Mitt Romney Says Donald Trump Is a Case of 'Evil Trumping Good'

Mitt Romney ripped into Donald Trump today, calling his candidacy a case of "evil trumping good.”

"A person so untrustworthy and dishonest as Hillary Clinton must not become president. Of course, a Trump nomination enables her victory," Romney said this morning in an address to the Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah.

And that was the tip of the iceberg in a scathing speech the former GOP presidential nominee gave of his party’s 2016 campaign front-runner.

"Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud. His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University," Romney said. "He's playing the American public for suckers: He gets a free ride to the White House and all we get is a lousy hat."

I am greatly disappointed in Romney.

Not me, I knew he was a pos when I was forced to give him my vote.

Never again!

Evil? EVIL??

Criticize Trump if you want to. He really isn’t a Conservative. His protectionist economics won’t work. He has flip-flopped. Etc.

But EVIL? The GOPe has jumped the shark. Throwing in with the “Trump is Hitler” crowd.

Until or unless Trump kills 20 million people that comparison is the palest of pales.

Well, that is just SNARKY.

It is a feud that never had to be. Romney did not acknowledge, at the time, that he was treating the Current Occupant “gingerly”, with a hands-off attitude about the many scandals that were engulfing the Current Regime, especially in regards to the events and LARGE non-response in Benghazi, which was VERY fresh in people’s minds at the time.

And in his reticence, Romney forever branded himself as a sympathizer with the criminal enterprise that still (probably unlawfully) occupies the White Hut.

“A person so untrustworthy and dishonest as Hillary Clinton must not become president. Of course, a Trump nomination enables her victory,”

*************************************

First of all, Trump will not enable a Hilly victory, especially since he’s the only one with guts enough to call her out for her criminal deeds. Secondly, Mitten himself ENABLED the election of most evil, destructive President we’ve had thus far in the history of this country. Obama was ACTUALLY ELECTED in a contest against Mittens who was weak, afraid to go after Obama, and let himself be bested by a fat moderator who was lying her fat butt off. Mittens should not be calling Trump out for events that have not occurred when he himself is actually GUILTY of what he is merely predicting will happen in the future with Trump.

Please note that Cruz the weather vane has not said one word against Mittens attacking Trump.

That speaks huge volumes.

Cruz is GOPe.

Keep dreaming. Cruz is Republican and on board with this crap. I’d never support him. He’s GOPe too. Just has a different strategy. What happened to the 11th commandment, lying scum. Rubio pulled out of KY and Louisiana so Cruz can win and ruz is going to do what he can to help Rubio win Florida. I have no drape for these fools

These establishment types would rather ruin than surrender their money, perks and positions.

Ordinary political methods are coming to an end and we face a Social War. Rome's transition from a Republic to an Imperium is a valid analogy.

Even a broken clock is correct two times a day. Lowlife Mittens, jackass that he is, said nothing that was factually incorrect abou Il Duce.

Romney totally resented having to crawl to Trump for an endorsement in 2012. He looks down his patrician nose at Trump. That presser where Trump endorsed Romney was one awkward moment. Romney looked like he was being tortured. Then Trump rightly characterizes Willard as a choke artist and I guess Mitt really thought he was getting some back this morning. He looked small and pathetic. He should be forced to show up at the debate tonight and face Trump in person.

Romney has done nothing good for the Republican Party, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in 2012. His adoption of Romneycare utterly defanged his efforts to criticize Obamacare, and his stance on guns over the years resulted in many in the base simply not showing up - to say nothing of the harm to the rights of millions of people that said stance (and laws that he signed) caused.

It is sad that a man with the (previously apparent) dignity that he has, needs to stoop to this level, to do what Rubio didn’t have the ability to do. Romney could have criticized Trump in a manner that wouldn’t have given the Dems ANY ammo, or minimal ammo, for November. Romney is ONCE AGAIN helping the Republican Party to commit suicide.

If Hillary “must be defeated,” then why on Earth do you criticize the frontrunning candidate in this manner? You know, Romney himself was the frontrunner at about this time in 2012, and he got the nomination - and a lot of people who didn’t like his politics STILL voted for him because they believed that he was better than Obama. Why can’t Romney swallow his own pride in the same manner, and just suck it up that Trump is THE leading candidate for the nomination this year. So, his not Romney’s cup of tea - deal with it, like most of us on FR have had to do since 1984.
