I didn’t say that. I merely asked why one should vote for Trump. Again - serious question.

He’s the only one with a proven track record of running multi billion dollar organizations with a profit regardless of opposition, while at least mostly stating adherence to conservative values.

If we don’t get government spending seriously under control real soon, other socio-political issues will rapidly become a moot point.

Cruz has the right principles, but not the experience in implementing them.

The rest just aren’t getting the votes - for reasons.

And only Trump shows the talent needed to eviscerate Hillary’s chances.

Because I believe he means what he says and will act on it

1) He faced ridicule when he stated he would build a wall, he was called xenophobic, and racist. Even the Pope in effect excommunicated him fro it (declared him non a christian). Instead of equivocating, or clarifying, or pivoting or backtracking he stood his ground even though it seemed it would hurt him in the polls. Instead he doubled down and stated Mexico would pay for it. So I believe he means it and he will build the wall.

2) Undisputedly he has a large ego, a sense of legacy. His own ego will not allow him to leave office without a wall built that bears his name. I support building the wall

3) He faced a complete meltdown in the media, was almost banned from entry into the UK, was called racist, a xenophobe, and was attacked by conservatives on his own party due perceived infringement of religious liberties when he asked for a moratorium in the immigration of Syrian refugees. He rightly points out that ISIS has taken over official passport and birth certificate producing machines and we have no idea how many Isis terrorists are ‘embedded’ in the stream of documented and undocumented Syrian refugees. So I believe given his stance in front of opposition that he will stop the Syrian immigration into the country and send back those already here. I support that.

4) He has called for an alternative to Syrian immigration the construction of ‘safe zones’ inside Syria itself, so there is no need for Syrian to emigrate, or countries to accept immigrants that will have trouble integrating into their culture, such as is happening in Europe. I support the concept of a safe zone in Syria.

5) He has unequivocally called for the repeal of Obamacare. and has indicated that a main problem in controlling health care costs is the inability to bid fro healthcare services across state lines, and the inability of the government to competitively bid on drug prices. I believe that given his business experience he might be able to come up with cost cutting measures on healthcare, even thought his proposed plans for Obamacare replacement lack specifics.

6) The media and other have tried to portray Trump as a ‘large government’ proponent. I just don’t see it, given his engrained habits for cost cutting over 30 years. I tend to believe that his administration (specially if Sarah Palin is involved) will be know for cost cutting and reducing the size of government and coming up with a balanced budget before the end of his first 4 year term.

7) I find it offensive when Republicans say they will prop up social security etc, by reducing benefits and increasing the retirement age. Trump has vowed to leave Social security and Medicare without cuts, and plans instead to reduce waste and abuse in those program.

8) A ‘hard line’ ‘right wing’ conservative will not win the general election as it will not attract centrist, democrat or independent votes. Trump is the most centrist candidates, has grown the party and I believe will trounce Hillary Clinton in the general election.

There are many more reasons to vote for Trump, but these are just a few.

First of all, thank you for the sincere answer. I am not on the Trump bandwagon and have been asking for the past week why people are. Yours is the first real answer I have received.

He’s the only one with a proven track record of running multi billion dollar organizations with a profit regardless of opposition, while at least mostly stating adherence to conservative values.

That is definitely a plus and I do like that angle.

If we don’t get government spending seriously under control real soon, other socio-political issues will rapidly become a moot point.

Agreed! I don’t see him as the only candidate willing to do this, but yes it does need to happen ASAP.

Cruz has the right principles, but not the experience in implementing them.

Agreed … Cruz does indeed have the right principles. As far as experience in implementing them, I think with congressional (i.e., conservative) support he could implement his plans. The main issue is that the left and the media (but that’s redundant) have seriously hurt his chances to accomplish that. Especially since the GOP doesn’t have the spine to back him up.

And only Trump shows the talent needed to eviscerate Hillary’s chances.

I hope you’re right about that, because it doesn’t look like the Trump train is going to be stopped by any other candidate at this point.

Very detailed response … thank you.

I think the wall is a pipe dream and an attention getter only. I’m sure he’d really like to build one, but I am not going to hold my breath waiting for it.

Ego … yep, he’s got that. So does Obama, unfortunately.

I gotta admit, I love the way he is playing the media, and his talk about the refugees (and the ISIS hiding within them) is spot on. It’s a worldwide crisis and we see what it’s doing to Europe … especially Germany.

All GOP candidates are calling for a repeal of Obamacare … and rightfully so. But doesn’t Trump support a government led healthcare system? But regarding the price … yeah, he nailed it. Prices for care, and especially medicine, has gone up tremendously. Pharmaceutical companies have money in every pocket in DC, from lobbyists all the way up to our current pResident. That juggernaut is going to be hard to slay.

Ah, social security. Would be just fine in government would just keep their greedy hands off of it. People that put money into it … workers like you and me … should be able to get that money upon retirement.

I really do think that a conservative could win the general election if the GOP would back them. But they won’t. Look what they’ve done to Ted Cruz over the past couple of years. Pathetic.

Thanks again for the response. Exactly what I was looking for.

i was not a Trump supporter in the beginning, Gov Walker was my choice, but I see an alarming trend building whereby the party is deciding not to back the candidate that the VOTERS choose...What, then, is the purpose of wasting all that money on primary elections....just pick the party favorite and move on....That sounds a LOT like socialism or Democratic policies, even the Communists do it that way. I want the party to STFU, figure out who the PEOPLE want, put full force behind that candidate and make the best of what happens....AND DO NOT DO WHAT YOU DID THE LAST TWO ELECTIONS BY STAYING HOME AND ELECTING A DEMOCRAT.

Oh so you like Obamcare, Common Core, open borders???

Good grief, Borders are trump's #1 target, common core is #2....we have to come up with an alternative to Obamacare. I am no ardent backer of Trump, but the FIRST, PRIMARY, ONLY goal in this election is to defeat Clinton.

Can you picture Clinton in a debate with Trump?????? He would have her for lunch.....things would be brought up dating back to Rose law firm, investment in the commodity market, Fort Marcy Park and dead bodies, no record at all of constructive Senate career, tolerance of Bill's shenanegons and condemnation of the women who accused him. Benghaazi might be mentioned and we are barely up to the, either criminal,or at least incompetent handling of the E-Mail scandal.
