Regarding tonight's debate, it was a good night for both Cruz and Rubio because it helped them change the narrative.
Cruz has had a bad couple of weeks in that department, but tonight should guarantee he wins Texas and a lot of the delegates there. And frankly that's more important to him than winning close states elsewhere and here's why -- the proportional delegate allocation. For example, in 2012 Santorum won 11 states but only 245 delegates total, or just about 80 more than Ron Paul. The game is delegates, not states (see my previous post on this today). Cruz needed to get back to talking issues and showing command there, and he did tonight. I'm hearing from lots of Cruz folks who were nervous 24 hours ago and are feeling good now.
For Rubio, his newscycle today had not been good for him, so he needed to show he was willing to hit Trump and he did effectively. I've got to believe that will help his numbers in his home state of Florida, which he absolutely must win to remain a viable candidate in the race.
Speaking of Trump, it was a dreadful debate for him. Now, his cult following won't care. But the key to beating Trump is what we did in Iowa -- we held him to 20-25% instead of 30-35% by taking away from him conservative voters he had no business adding to his coalition. So he gets 21% of evangelicals as opposed to 31% as just one example. That is the key to beating Trump. You can't implode him but you can lower his ceiling.

Now you are just doing google searches for stuff to dump on FR.
SteveDeace.com?
What other no name sites are in those search results. IgorNews.ru?
Actually, I check his site daily. He’s a big talk radio personality, and helped Cruz pull out his big win in Iowa.
Yeah, this guy is a disgrace!
Choke artist and liar;
Deace...Deace..? Oh yeah, the fatass dropout radio talker who no one outside a 50 mile radius of Des Moines has ever heard of and most of them don’t pay any attention to?
Cruz will lose.
LOL. Most people don’t know or care who Steve Deace is.
I know I do not.The guy has no influence over anything.
“Heâs a big talk radio personality”
Yeah, I’m sure he is. Who hasn’t heard of Steve Deace?
You are doing this to deliberately wind people up aren’t you??
Good job! LOL! Clever way to expose Ted’s deliberate lies, half truths, and misrepresentations. He went in to the gutter in IA and has been going down hill since.
Keep it up!!
Never heard of him. As in Bag?
Rubio pulled a crispy creme on frump. Saying he’s repeating himself.
He’s nationally syndicated on the Salem Radio Network.
Deace remark “cult following” continues the theme of demeaning Trump’s supporters, but it has yet to work.
Does Deace know that over 800,000 Texans have already voted?
“but tonight should guarantee he wins Texas”
yeah, yeah...Trump has lousy debate and enemedia goes buzzing then shazam Donald announces Chris Christie has endorsed him and knocks the free for all debated to back page news.
Nice to see a guy who knows how to keep his campaign in front of the almost running.

Someone should inform Mr. Deace that we are all not simplistic novices to the art of political discourse; and that anyone better schooled than he, will instantly appreciate what I am suggesting.
Granted these TV "debates," really are something else. At their best, they do not allow the participants enough time to seriously discuss any issue. In that they are pathetic. But there was no excuse for the techniques of some of the participants.
Only problem is that he has very little following. For good reason.
Actually both of them lost to Trump. I am a Cruzite but the followers of the Donald are not looking for information on the campaign any more. They will vote for him no matter what he does or says. Reality!
Deace is #63 in talkers.com Heavy Hundred, so he’s not a nobody.
Of course, Rush is still #1, followed by Hannity, Ramsey, Savage, Beck and Levin.
He’s a Michigan and an Iowa State fan.
He’s also very knowledgeable on college sports, as well, and does a weekly podcast with Jon Miller of HawkeyeNation.com, which is a Iowa Hawkeye sports site.
