Top Jewish Leader Demands Bernie Apology For Adviser’s Obama Holocaust Reference
Daily Caller ^ | 6:22 PM 02/25/2016 Zionist Organization of America president Morton Klein is urging Bernie Sanders t | Evan Gahr

Zionist Organization of America president Morton Klein is urging Bernie Sanders to personally apologize because one of his economic advisers said on Wednesday blacks and Latinos suffered a “financial Holocaust” under Barack Obama.

Klein said Sanders has a “unique obligation” to not let surrogates “trivialize” the Shoah because the secular Jewish socialist lost many family members to Nazi persecution.

Klein contended that law professor William Black, who dropped the H-bomb during a campaign conference call with reporters, should have just called Obama’s economic policies “disastrous.”

I agree. The Nazi holocaust was unique but the word stands on its own.

Thanks - it’s really just a disgusting, disguised, attack on Sanders. If Hillary had said it, then we wouldn’t have heard a peep.

If the guy doesn’t like Sanders, then just say so.

The only way in which it was unique was the degree to which it was documented.

You’re correct. Dictionary.com defines holocaust to be a horrible happening in general, not just the Jewish thing.

Not so unique. The Armenian Genocide at the hands of Muslim Turks preceded it by a few decades.

Upwards of 1.5 million Christian deaths. Death marches. Concentration camps. The Armenian genocide, and the lack of response by the West, convinced Hitler he could get away with his own genocide.

"Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?" Hitler, 1939

But people don't hear much about it, because it was just about Christians.

...the Jewish thing.

DO have to study on that phrasing for a bit less I take hasty offense.
As for owning words, no less now than 40-50 years go, use of the word ghetto to define some inner city neighborhoods is obscenely inappropriate. In my mind the word was bought and paid for many times over with appreciable interest. At least in the US no one was ever ever forbidden by law and custom from Moving On Up To the East Side.

Holodomor: The Secret Holocaust in Ukraine (10+ million killed)
http://www.thenewamerican.com/culture/history/item/4656-holodomor-the-secret-holocaust-in-ukraine

When Ukraine resisted Soviet attempts at collectivization in the 1920s and ‘30s, the Soviet Union under Stalin used labor camps, executions, and starvation (Holodomor) to kill millions of Ukrainians.

In 1933, the recently elected administration of Franklin D. Roosevelt granted official U.S. recognition to the Soviet Union for the first time. Especially repugnant was that this recognition was granted even though Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin had just concluded a campaign of genocide against Ukraine that left over 10 million dead. This atrocity was known to the Roosevelt administration, but not to the American people at large, thanks to suppression of the story by the Western press — as we shall show.

Zionist Organization of America in full support of the Obama?
Not surprising at all. After all it wasn’t the national socialism that they were fleeing, just the persecution. Just
like the Mexicans. It’s not the horrendous government they
voted for that they flee but the hunger their ignorance created. Just like the liberals in the Northeastern Communist
Block USA, it’s not their blithering idiocy in voting for
socialist trash that they tuck their tails and run from but
the low quality of life they created for themselves.

Jews as a group are aggressive. Nothing wrong with that. You are being aggressive ... how dare I appear to take the mistreatment of Jews in Germany casually!

Don’t blame Mort Klein for that. Mort Klein and the ZOA have condemned the Armenian genocide for years. And if it weren’t for Raphael Lemkin, a Polish Jewish lawyer, you couldn’t call it the Armenian genocide. He invented the term, based on both the Armenian genocide and the Ukranian genocide. No Holocaust yet, but Lemkin predicted it based on the Reich’s ideology and the fact that the west ignored the former.

Helps to read the articles.

Black's statement was apparently financial Holocaust over the last eight years. I say apparently because it's the author who chose to use Holocaust rather than holocaust. I don't know what dictionaries you're consulting, but most make a distinction. The capital H referring to Germany of the last century.

More important, Mort Klein who is being criticized for here appears to said Sanders has a “unique obligation” to not let surrogates “trivialize” the Shoah because the secular Jewish socialist lost many family members to Nazi persecution. It's Hebrew, and means destruction, but now specifically refers German actions in the 1940s.

Silly think to fawn offence over.

“The capital H referring to Germany of the last century.”

Didn’t know that. From dictionary.com:

(usually initial capital letter) the systematic mass slaughter of European Jews in Nazi concentration camps during World War II (usually preceded by the).

Slambat, you are 100%,, completely and utterly wrong in your hypothesis about whom the ZOA and its leaders would support, if they were in a position to do so.

It’s alarming to read your nasty comment that makes vicious, hateful claims against and cast aspersions on an entire ethnic group and everyone in it.

The ZOA was to its great credit one of only a few organizations to sound the alarm over the disastrous Oslo Accords and the only organizations that tracked day by day the Palestinian Authority’s thousands of egregious violations of the agreement, while the U.S. State Department kept ignoring all those violations.

Israel kept every single commitment it made under the Oslo Accords. The Palestinian Authority kept nothing of what they promised in the agreement they signed. The U.S. and the EU ignored those facts and just kept telling the media that the Palestinian Authority wanted peace, even though there was no actual basis for that claim.

Unlike the U.S. State Department and most “peace” organizations, the ZOA did not ignore facts, did not sing kumbayah and therefore correctly did its best to warn America about the foolishness of Israel’s being forced to give away the store and getting nothing in return.

Had U.S. leaders and the U.S. State Department “experts” only heeded the clear facts being tracked by Mort Klein and the ZOA, what the world would have avoided would have two more decades of fruitless the U.S. and the EU and Israel throwing throwing vast amounts of money at the corrupt and violence-inciting Palestinian Authority and getting in return only a much worse situation, with two generation of US and EU subsidized suicide bombers and two more generations of mullah and parental religious incitement to religious hatred and jihad.

Mort Klein and the ZOA have never been politically correct; Mort Klein was correct as correct can be and continues to be correct. He is mocked as a target by those brainwashed with political correctness and by those who fear that people will see the facts and wake up to reality.

It seems there are moles on Free Republic today determined knowingly or unwittingly to lie about and distort the facts and to malign the clear correct, intelligent, freedom-loving voice the ZOA.

One might reasonably suggest that religious bigotry drives claims here that deny or choose to be uninformed or ignorant of the proud record of the ZOA.

I assure you, BobL, had Hillary said it, you WOULD have heard exactly the same “peep.” Klein is not claiming to “own” the word; he’s pointing out how the specific historical coinage, “The Holocaust,” has been trivialized and what the ramifications of the trivialization are.

Among others who have raised consciousness of this trivialization is Marvin Heir:
