I think we call that mind reading.

I’ll pass on my turn.

Thanks for your reply.

>>>>Well I’ll tell you what, you can sit and wait until the “perfect” candidate comes around.

Of course, I’m not doing that. I think there has to be some minimum standards though.

:)

Thanks, with a little luck we might all just survive this mess!

Agreed. Good piece.

Except I don’t see W. as having forged an emotional bond with voters. He got elected in no small part because of his name and massive funding advantage. His big message was that he was inevitable in the primary and then ultimately could win.

Was this where he received the Pat Robertson, CBN endorsement

Sorry, I erred. It was not TEXAS. Frankly, I saw it once on a clip at CBN with Pat Robertson as just one example, in what had to be in Virginia, and another clip of an ovation that turned out to be in South Carolina, but not TEXAS.

Because it was a news clip, there was nothing said about an endorsement by Pat Robertson. I did not know that Robertson had endorsed TRUMP. Wow. Really?

Name another candidate who has ever called a fellow candidate a “soft little baby”. THAT is baby talk. And then he likens Carson to a child molester. Sick stuff. There is nothing Trump will not do-—to advance Trump. Tell any lie, make any exaggeration, say what it takes to fool voters. His securirty and associates act like Mafiosa.
Doesn’t it bother you when Trump brags about how well he gets along with Rotten, Pelosi, Reid and Schumer, and announces excitement about dealing with them?

Fair enough, and yet we need to stick to the domain of his proposed position.

If Donald went before them as a candidate for something like a director of the Family Research Council, I’d fully expect him to get creamed eight ways from Sunday.

As a prospective political office holder? Who is NOT, NOT, NOT, being expected to be everybody’s nanny and look-to for every purpose? We have a different domain of examination.

We don’t need pretty exhibition pieces. We need dedicated war fighters.

I think we can allow for the mode of talk. We aren’t robots. We know that certain points of view carry certain kinds of rhetorical style.

Knowing that Donald was a WWE dramatic wrestler for years, helps frame his point of view.

Frankly, I think Cruz could have brilliantly retorted here. He might have said “and so was my Savior and look where He is now.” Which would both parry Trump’s thrust and exalt God — and Trump would probably even respect the reply.

Carson, too, had a window for witness.

He could have said “Child molester? Oh, I wish I had only been that bad. But Jesus saved me and look where I am now.”

Sometimes instead of getting our hair on fire, an on-point testimony says the most. I was this... but Jesus did that... voila. Not rocket science maybe, but Cross science it is.

I think it is up to Christians to approach Trump to furnish the thoughts that unite, even when the devil uses Trump to furnish thoughts that divide.

The key is the work of the Cross. Will we raise a serious testimony, acting unexpectedly calm in the face of withering fire and extending the word of reconciliation? Well, if we don’t nobody will. Sometimes candle lighting helps more than darkness cursing. Just sayin’.

God really is that powerful. Will we give Him the faith, the belief, the credit required in order to start talking as though He is? I have personally found that kind of audacity to be rewarded, and not even just among Christians but among non-Christians.

Oh also about those Dems... never fear.

Right now they aren’t giving him a lot of trouble, and he’s willing to make nice. Donald is not one to be nasty without a provocation.

Let them start to give him serious trouble, and never fear. We will see the tough Donald. I pity Hillary going up, like the fool she is, against Donald. Talk about selling popcorn, though it will be in containers with Trump’s name on it.

Thanks for your reply and I get your point.

But, again, it is a speech at a Christian University for an audience who should place high value on Christian teaching - and, according to the linked report, Trump spoke to Christian values.

What we used to call “family values.” Including, high on the list, abortion. Should be a big concern for this audience, yes? Cheering a candidate who said: “Planned Parenthood does many good things”?

Judeo-Christian values. We are in a cultural war, politics can be seen (cf: Andrew Brietbart) as downstream from culture. We can’t win this war by abandoning our values. Here’s Dennis Prager on Trump back in 2011:

http://www.dennisprager.com/f-word-laced-speech-disqualifies-donald-trump-from-presidency/

In any case.. I *think* your argument is it’s not important or important enough; it should be overlooked for a greater value. I don’t think it should be the foundation for the greater good, and - at the very least- it should be for an audience at a Christian University.

thanks again for your courtesy in reply..

Big typo. Should have been:

I think it should be the foundation for the greater good, and - at the very least- it should be for an audience at a Christian University.
