Scott, who like Trump had no prior political experience before running for public office, has been on many pundits' VP shortlist since Trump announced his presidential campaign. As the governor of an important swing state, he's a natural fit, but some say Trump already has plenty of ties to Florida, and would be better served by nominating the governor of another important swing state, like Ohio, for example.
Scott drew even more attention to himself in January, when he penned an op ed in USA Today praising Trump. The article, written long before a single caucus or primary vote was cast in any state, stopped just shy of an endorsement, but made it clear Scott is a big fan of the billionaire.
Rick Scott demurred this week when asked if he'd say yes to being Donald Trump's vice presidential pick.
"I M focused on this job. Ive got three more years in this job," the Florida governor told reporters in his Capitol office, the Tallahassee Democrat reported Wednesday.
TMve been very clear the things that are important to me, the things that we have done here. I think we need to have a president who has a very specific plan on how we are going to get jobs going in this country, just as i have done in Florida . . . somebody who are going to be absolutely focused on destroying ISIS."

NO!!!!!!!
Personally, Scott Walker makes better sense.
Trump has FL won assuming no major disaster and Walker might bring WI and IA into the fold.
If Cruz doesn’t make president then he should be a VP
So much for surrounding yourself with “intelligent” people.. Huh Donaldus Magnus?
I like Cruz, but what does he bring to the Trump ticket in terms of enhancing his electability?
Little, if anything. So, no. IMHO.
The Wife’s head will explode if Trump taps Walker as VP. Lol
I’m thinking he brings conservatism. Trump is a moderate and you need balance. This brings in the conservative voter who would otherwise stay home. This is the opposite of conservative Reagan choosing moderate Bush Sr.
“If Cruz doesnât make president then he should be a VP”
No! a VP doesn’t do anything. It would be a waste. He should remain as a Senator or, best of all, become Attorney General.
You’ve got that right.
Looking objectively, we need someone on ticket to heal the party but not someone with a Bush Family connection.
Also someone young enough to continue to next term.
Scott Walker. You beat me to it. He was my early first choice; so why would I not support him for VP? He has been opposed by the entire brute force of unionism in America, and 3X he has left the bastards lying in the ditch. Go Walker!
I like Walker too, and as someone suggested this morning, Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke would be another. If you aren’t familiar with him, you’ll be impressed - sort of an Allen West in a police cruiser rather than a Humvee. And he is, well...black, and a Democrat. Only because it is a partisan office, and he has always maintained that law enforcement is not a partisan issue so he picked the letter after his name that helps him get elected the most. As a staunch conservative he has nothing else to do with the D part in WI and it just drives the state party leaders crazy.
Scott has been a good governor in Florida
Scott Walker was my first choice
At least if Trump is successful the guy following might continue
Not like Reagan picking Bush
Reagan’s biggest mistake
Yes....he has first pick as VP to be president next go round or if the president “shuffles off this mortal coil”. Stuff happens. Also how much a VP does changes radically from POTUS to POTUS.
I do agree he would make an excellent AG or SCOTUS Justice.
This happens every presidential election cycle from time immemorial. It's call "brand polishing", no explanation needed.
If Gov. Scott's name is being banded around in Florida or elsewhere, you can bet some state or local pol's name is similarily being bandied about in every other state as we sit here at our keyboards. It's a time-honored game.
The only name that will count will be the one coming from Mr. Trump's mouth when he clinches the nomination. To paraphrase an old quote, "the rest is beanbag".
We can be almost 100% postive that he already knows who he's going to select...and has known for a while now.

I thought Scott Walker as well - although Sessions would be my first choice.
Sessions is good pick too.
I’d like to keep him in the Senate but having him work closely with Trump has wisdom.
If Trump wins, their will be lots of very angry insiders.
He brings 29 Electoral College votes.
If I had to put money on it at this point I’d bet on Kasich. Ohio is a must win state and he’s a good party foot soldier. He would help mend the fence between Trump and the party. Second choice Guiliani.
