DALLAS (AP) -- A letter from the Supreme Court's doctor says Antonin Scalia suffered from coronary artery disease, obesity and diabetes, among other ailments that probably contributed to the justice's sudden death.
Presidio County District Attorney Rod Ponton cited the letter Tuesday, when he told The Associated Press there was nothing suspicious about the Feb. 13 death of the 79-year-old jurist. He said the long list of health problems made an autopsy unnecessary.

Probably? Probably?
What kind of "expert" diagnosis is that?
The whole handling of Scalia's death was a major example of incompetence, IMHO.
The question of how he really died will always remain unanswered.
All things that can be exacerbated by poison.
Again, why no autopsy in an UNATTENDED DEATH?
Did or do not Scalia family want autopsy?
Were they being silenced or blackmailed?
The man was almost 80. Of course he had numerous health issues.
Some of these folks apparently believe were supposed to live forever. I’d say they’re detached from reality.
Sorry AP, was good knowing ya... lolololol
The obfuscation continues.
I agree, there is no reason to assume the cause of death and not perform an autopsy where certainty could be established.
As soon as the news broke I said that Gov Abbott should send in the Texas Rangers to investigate. (Figuring that US Marshals or FBI would be Baraqqi partisans).
Having said that, a chubby 79 yr old smoker dying suddenly is not incredibly rare.
But a major, important government VIP?
So for the death certificate what should be the cause of death?
The CDC publishes a physician's handbook to help navigate the form.
In Part I, the certifier must describe the immediate cause of death -- the conditions and sequence of events that led up to the death. In Part II, they must also list the underlying causes of death over time. This can be something that happened in the hours before a person died, or be a condition revealed in the medical history from several years ago. And because there's often confusion and ambiguity, certifiers can use words like "probable" or "presumed" to qualify their decisions but they must always fill out the underlying causes.
Reality is the issue, you do not assume that health issues were the cause, you make certain they were the cause. The timing certainly plays into the liberals hands.
I'm just a little guy big mouth on the internet, but I've told my family if I ever die mysteriously to look into foul play .... just to be sure
Agree. There should have been an autopsy. But the fact remains, he was 80 years old so of course he had numerous medical issues.
No, but an enemy to the obama administration in the last days of what MIGHT be the USA is worthy of at least a LITTLE paranoia !
I made no assumptions regarding that.
His family may not have wanted to deal with the worst case scenario but I agree autopsies should always be performed on persons with authority such as public officials, police or church pastors.
LOL, right, it's a "lifestyle choice".
Damned fatphobes!
So the judge declares death over the phone.
Judge declared it was probably a heart attack over the phone.
Judge refused to do an autopsy.
And now this is probable too!!!
Give me a break AP.
Yes.
My Dad died in 2013 at the age of 84 from complications of diabetes. There was no autopsy.
But my Dad was an ordinary citizen, not a conservative Supreme Court justice who was a continuing obstacle to the destruction of our country by this administration and its minions. It was imperative here to rule out foul play. I wouldn’t put anything past the current regime or its handlers.
I don’t think I’m overstating the case here. A majority leftist Court and we’re finished.
