I think that’s unfortunate. He’s the best one of the bunch to bring back the Presidency to what it should be.

He’d make an excellent choice to replace Scalia though.

I respectfully disagree: the president is not America’s pastor — Ted’s problem was NOT a problem of being Christian, it was a problem of seeing the role of Christianity through those eyes. This kind of amalgam thinking got the church in trouble only a few hundred years into its existence. Much dilution of Christianity later (Church of the DMV, anyone?) and many wars and many persecutions and many heartaches later, the church around the world seems to have mostly learned that lesson. But America has lagged.

These Christians of South Carolina realized that they weren’t being asked to elect a pastor. There could hypothetically be better people than Trump to fill the slot, yes. But Trump was the one raised to the moment.

No executive experience. Never ran a hot dog stand successfully. He is a lawyer. Talks a good game. Has nothing to show in accomplishments in US Senate. Not a single colleague from the 99 senators he works with every day has endorsed him. Not even Mike Lee or Sessions. Which tells me, Ted’s biggest problem is likability.

His is most suitable for SCOTUS, not chief executive of USA who must get along with congress, and governors, and foreign leaders, to make good deals for we the people.

Yep, let the crackerjack lawyer do lawyer work. That's his forte.

Trump likes to point out that the other candidates spend millions on pollsters and handlers who tell these guys how to act or what to say. Cruz's magic keyword catch phrase guy, Mr. Mercer, can't inject or invent a likable personality for the Tedster to appeal to a broad base.

Ted, serve the country as either the Attorney General or the USSC or stay in the Senate, although, I think he'd be much more useful in either of the other two positions.
