Why Alexander Hamilton Would Hate the GOP refusal to Consider a Scalia Successor (Barf)
Newsweek ^ | February 17, 2016 | Kurt Eichenwald

Posted on 02/17/2016 5:53:31 PM PST by C19fan

Americans no longer deserve America. The founders’ experiment in democracy, forged in blood and scholarship, has failed.

There is no other way to interpret the obscene debate that has enveloped the country since the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Almost before Scalia’s body went cold, prominent Republicans rushed to social media, political events and television studios to proclaim that they would never vote to confirm any nominee submitted by President Obama to fill the Scalia’s vacancy. Their declaration stemmed from a bizarre, anti-Constitutional argument that a president should only be allowed to have any Supreme Court nomination confirmed during 75 percent of the executive term of office.

Mr. Eichenwald, Hamilton died in a duel a year after the first major SCOTUS case in Marbury v. Madison. Hamilton or any of the Founders foresaw how the SCOTUS would evolve to become a cultural politburo of 9 members. I find the whole concept of Newsweek quoting Founding Fathers repulsive and downright an assault on out intelligence. Newsweek has never stood for limiting the power of the Federal Gov't as understood by the Founders.

Newsweek has also never been known for reporting the news either!

Hamilton never anticipated that the Supreme Court would undertake the powers of a monarch. That’s the real issue.

Americans no longer deserve America.

*************************************

We showed that when we allowed Usurpation Day to happen, January 20, 2009.

Barack Obama told us he was born a British subject as well as a US citzen.

Who believes the founders would have thought him a natural born citizen?

The Founders gave us a Constitutional Representative Republic, not a "democracy." They despised democracies (as they had studied history). Shows what this moron knows...

“Americans no longer deserve America.’

The entitlement mentality rears its ugly head. Nobody deserves anything they didn’t work for. By enabling the parasitic takeover of the country, we definitely deserve the bankruptcy that’s coming, though.

Hamilton? The one who favored debt as a way of leverage and a national bank using that debt? That Hamilton?

Such myopic libtards.

Hamilton would also have never allowed muslim “refugees” on American soil, either, and fought the fricking barbary pirates.

They just attempt to cherry pick anything that seems to work for them at the moment. They’d stab Hamilton in the back the second it was to their advantage.

Yeah, Kurt Eichenwald has no dog in this fight...

Oh, wait - here is one of his recent tweets:

4 hours ago - View on Twitter
Delicious idea: if gop blocks SCOTUS nomination, and dems then win prez & senate, they should put Obama on the court. Would drive GOP nuts.

Right...

Eichenwald cries crocodile tears about “the hate, contempt and rage about disagreements of political opinion” that are dooming the USA, but look who’s routinely posting crap like the tweet above.

Evidently the guy is a bit lacking in the “self-awareness” department...

Alexander Hamilton would want our unbeloved president tried for treason, high crimes and misdemeanors.

The demos need only look in the mirror. Four letters: BORK.

For the first time in history a Supreme Cour nominee was rejected purely on ideology. If the republicans confirm Obummer’s inevitable socialist/progressive nominee, they are complete fools. But then we already know that.

The congressional repubs have proven themselves to be so spineless, that if they even convene a hearing they will fold under the predictable media onslaught. I predict utter disaster.
