Good analysis. Trump was looking ahead of Saturday night. Bush can restate that he's sick and tire of Trump going after his family, but Trump only spoke the truth, even if it was unfortunate for GWB. It's hard to pin that on Bill Clinton when it happened 10 months after Bush was elected.
Jeb and Kasich talking about how great they did as governors goes against the grain of the anger people feel about the country's economic demise. It's hard to rally behind someone who says he was in charge during the last 8 years.
When they are gone, Trump will split and divide the two Cubans, both with checkered histories on immigration and now trying to give it the "more like Trump soft sell."
Sorry Cubans, this election is about "illegal immigrants" and Trump saying the wall first has resonance. For Cruz and Rubio, we would wait another 8 years for the flow of illegals to stop while they construct their plans for keeping ALL illegals in this country.
He called people who wanted to protect the borders, “vigilantes.” That is when he lost me for good. I had been a rabid supporter but he stabbed us in the back.

What we need to keep in mind is that the next president needs to be NOT IVY LEAGUE EDUCATED. That’s what’s wrong, what’s been wrong with both the executive branch and the judicial branch. The last FOUR presidents have been YALE/HARVARD. The ENTIRE Superme court is Harvard.
Harvard, Yale, and Columbia, need to be burned to the ground.

I’ve noticed that your employees have paid you to inject that specific bit of irrelevancy in EVERY post, no matter how irrelevant.
I know it is election season, and being a foreigner I try to stay out of it although the election of the US President means a lot to the part of the world we still call the Free World.
However, let us not rewrite history completely. Remember Clinton did not take out Osama when he could have done so? Remember Gorelick and the stove-piping of intelligence? Remember the Florida fiasco (more Gore than Clinton, but definitely the Dem party), which caused all Bush's nominations tot be delayed?
All points that were discussed thouroughly here at FR those many years ago.
Oh, and no doubt the other Republican candidates channeled Michael Moore’s “Bush lied; people died” too, eh?

Trump never answers a question whether it is hard or soft! He just rambles incoherently... just like his supporters.
Trump got pissed off early in the debate and remained that way. Finally we will have a candidate that will actually call Hillary a liar to her face and stand up to the democrat in the final debates before the election. I can’t wait.

Nobody can remember Gorelick these days, but the calendar is easy to read. Bush elected in November, 10 months later 9/11 happened. Easy math, and the Democrats are always reminded us it was Bush's fault, not Bill Clinton's.
Except for a few people who studied 2011 events and remember them, it was on GWB's watch and that is where it will stick. Trump knows that and so does Jeb.
