Associate Justice Antonin Scalia was found dead of apparent natural causes Saturday on a luxury resort in West Texas, federal officials said.
Scalia, 79, was a guest at the Cibolo Creek Ranch, a resort in the Big Bend region south of Marfa. According to a report, Scalia arrived at the ranch on Friday and attended a private party with about 40 people. When he did not appear for breakfast, a person associated with the ranch went to his room and found a body.
U.S. District Judge Fred Biery said he was among those notified about Scalia's death.
"I was told it was this morning," Biery said of Scalia's death. "It happened on a ranch out near Marfa. As far as the details, I think it's pretty vague right now as to how," he said. "My reaction is it's really unfortunate with any death. And now, politically, in the presidential cycle we're in my educated guess is nothing will happen before the next president is elected."

You got it, this is going to remind all of us and the GOP candidates tonight in the debate that outside of national security and the economy, the USSC is going to be a big issue.
This is incredibly consequential considering the 5-4 make-up of the court, and considering that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been widely rumored to be considering leaving the court.
If Obama is able to replace Scalia and Ginsburg the Supreme Court could shift to 3-6 in favor of liberal ideological worldview prior to the end of President Obama’s term in office.

This tragic death has united us here. Even if for a few hours.
A sad day for the family and loved ones of Justice Antonin Scalia. They have my prayers and condolences. It is also a very bad day for America because Obama now has the whip hand on the Supreme Court. But there is a further aspect of this tragic loss that most will not realize or understand, which is that this also gives the Republicans the tool they need to coerce support from conservatives for whichever judicial supremacist candidate they nominate for president. Yes, this is a very dark day, in every way.
The Left cannot step down. It already owns the EPA and the rest of the Bureaucracy whence almost all of our laws are generated.
How convenient. A party with 40 people the night before and then he’s found dead? All the slap downs the Supreme Court has given the Obama Administration, and he was the most hated of all the conservative Justices. Now he can stack the court while he’s still President and the traitor Republicans will push his liberal nominee right on through.

If this extreme liberal court in the future tries to destroy the 2nd Amendment I believe all hell will break loose. That’s why I don’t think they’ll try it.
I advise all to take a deep breath.
Obama will not let this chance pass to nominate a Court Justice. He will pull out all the stops and every effort will be made to get this done.
The bad news is that it will happen. Obama may not get the most Liberal Judge he wants but he will get one.
Obama does not care about it being an election year it will be looked as and opportunity. I bet he already has a list and I bet he won’t be long putting in his nominee.
