10. Effects of a Pardon

While a presidential pardon will restore various rights lost as a result of the pardoned offense and should lessen to some extent the stigma arising from a conviction, it will not erase or expunge the record of your conviction. Therefore, even if you are granted a pardon, you must still disclose your conviction on any form where such information is required, although you may also disclose the fact that you received a pardon. In addition, most civil disabilities attendant upon a federal felony conviction, such as loss of the right to vote and hold state public office, are imposed by state rather than federal law, and also may be removed by state action. Because the federal pardon process is exacting and may be more time-consuming than analogous state procedures, you may wish to consult with the appropriate authorities in the state of your residence regarding the procedures for restoring your state civil rights.

My thought on this is that they won’t touch the beast because she’ll take the Won down too.

From Ford's pardon of Nixon:
"... a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974."
\

I think we need an amendment to limit the President's pardon power to specific offenses. Blanket pardon's are for those with something to hide.

At the very least, Congress should have grilled Nixon to learn what was on the erased 18 minutes of erased tape and to identify any co-conspirators not yet identified.

I’ve posted it before and I’ll post it again. Hillary is on trial now by the FBI in the court of public opinion. While she probably won’t be indicted by a grand jury (it will never get that far, she won’t get elected either. The FBI is on track to release a lot of ugly stuff.

The stuff will document her security violations, the bribes which where funneled through the Clinton foundations and quite possibly Bubba’s hi jinks with Epstein. The other possibility will be proof of massive tax evasion.

I have no doubt Obama may pardon her. He can forget about doing anything effective after that. Both he and the Clintons will be anathema.

I didn't know that about pardons and pleas. But, that again gets into the timing issue that intrigued me when thinking about what Obama will do between Nov and Jan if nothing is going on republicans have won the election.

Of course if she wins it's all a point.

Glad that you are eating Siggi’s yogurt. Stay away from Chobani yogurt. Chobani is muslim owned and he only employs muslims.
Chobani is Arabic for “stealth jihad”.

"If he were to pardon her it could never be reversed."

I am not a lawyer but I think you have to be convicted of something to get a pardon. She will have to plead out something then get a pardon.

Agreed on Chobani. It's probably not even a real Greek yogurt.

I discovered Siggi's a few weeks ago. It's actually skyr and has Icelandic origins. The consistency of it is more like a cream cheese than a yogurt. I also prefer the full-milk version which is higher in fat, but the good kind of fat that is filling and healthy. Only four grams of (naturally occurring) sugar in the plain version and no more than 5 grams of added sugar in the flavored versions. This compares to the 25-30 grams of sugar you find in most other flavored yogurts which puts those in the category of a soft drink or dessert rather than a health food.

I don’t think she will be elected President. If fact, I don’t think she will get the nomination.

I agree. she has too much to overcome.

Obama cannot grant immunity. And a person cannot be pardoned until they are first arrested then convicted.

current and new regimes really dont like to go after the old ones.

kind of an unspoken rule among the powers that be.

maybe they look at Robert Kennedy going after Hoffa and how well that turned out for him :)

I love a happy ending.

You MAY be counting too heavily on Obama actually wanting Hillary to get away with it. Depending on how much dirt she might have on him...I can see him turning the hounds loose if it’s a last resort to keep her out of the WH, which I think he strongly wants to do.

But even if she is indicted and even if he does pardon her, how broad could a pardon be? Maybe a future AG could find a way to prosecute her for something not covered by the pardon. After all, all they could ever get Al Capone on was income tax evasion...

I think that was pretty obvious to most. The question remains: Who for Attorney General?

I was thinking Tom Delay if he can. He has many axes to grind but would gladly lay those down to go for the head of the beast.
