I just had a thought (vanity)

I have been a consistent nay sayer when ever the idea of Hillary Clinton facing justice comes up.

I have been harshly critical of the house committees and their inability to bring about any action on the email server or Benghazi. I am down to my last nerve on this whole affair taking so damn long.

BUT...

...it just occurred to me that because of Obama's ability to grant immunity, patriots in congress may have set a strategy of letting the stall carry itself out until Obama is out of office.

If he were to pardon her it could never be reversed. But once he is gone someone with courage and the power of a new Attorney General in place could finally bring out the truth behind the Clinton crime machine and maybe even hold, not only both of them but, some of their co-conspirators accountable.

...thoughts?

a. She needs to not be elected president and b. Obama needs to not issue her some blanket pardon (not sure he could do anything like that)

The best thing that could happen long term is for Hillary to be indicted, have all the evidence come out, and then have Obama pardon her.

That way Hillary doesn't become president, the Clinton name is still besmirched so that Chelsea's budding political career is toast, and Obama's own legacy is besmirched.

If it is seen that Obama is pardoning Hillary to protect himself from closer examination, then he might be seen as a pariah and lose some potential speaking fees.

Maybe he and Michelle would have to go into exile to their compound in Hawaii (or the one rumored in Dubai).

That would be a godsend.

Yes, but a President can pardon someone pro-actively. Remember Ford pardoned Nixon for any crimes he MIGHT have committed between certain dates. Obama could do the same for the Clintons. There doesn’t have to be a conviction for a pardon to be issued.

That’s some impressive rationalization.
But congress critters are like dogs and crawling infants: if a tennis ball rolls behind the sofa, it’s gone.

I have had the same thoughts.

He could pardon her even if she isn't indicted, can't he?

My problem with this whole thing is this:

If the sides were reversed, and the Attorney General was a Republican, or at least a non-Liberal hack, there would have already been an indictment.

The Liberal establishment would have gotten somebody somewhere to get an indictment and a prosecutor to prosecute. The classified leaker would have been arrested and in jail months ago.

Typical Freeper response: "That doesn't make any sense! The Attorney General has to approve that!"

Liberals don't play by the rules. They make things happen. They aren't going to hamstring themselves and not get what they want if a simply policy, regulation, or even a law is standing in their way.

They would have gotten an arrest, an indictment, and a trial even if all of it was not authorized.

Conservatives play by the rules, and are OBSESSED with following proper procedures.

Liberals play to WIN.

I went through this exercise as well...BUT! Obama can pardon her for all acts even if she is not indicted or charged....this is what Ford did for Nixon. Nixon wasn’t charged with anything.....sad.....

I don't think she will be elected President. If fact, I don't think she will get the nomination.

If I am right, that would put Obama (and her) in a world of bother from November 2016 until Jan 2017 if nothing comes of the congressional investigations.

Would he just step up and pardon her for no reason if she hasn't been indicted, or a grand jury called? That would seem like a clear admission of guilt and maybe an obvious cover up on his part -at which point he might have to pardon himself too.

By pardoning her, she would be admitting to be guilty, and it would be notated in her record that she pleaded guilty to a felony. The pardon just prevents sentencing and restores most rights. However, I don’t think that the ability to hold public office is restored if pardoned.

Yabut:

Clinton's certain dates are from the time she was first lady in Arkansas to the present. That's a lot of pardon.

Have you given much thought as to what you will have for breakfast tomorrow?

I have given breakfast some thought. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Lately, I've been having Siggi's Vanilla Whole Milk Yogurt with some frozen Wyman's blueberries stirred in. Along with a hard boiled egg. Now eggs are nature's perfect food! Great stuff.

I might put this up on a separate thread titled "Thought People Would Like to Hear My Thoughts on a Nutritious breakfast" but I'll have to put some more thought into that one.

...thoughts?

Should we post a separate vanity for our thought? ;-)

Maybe we can put it in Breaking News, that would be fun. As long as there is the word "Trump" in the headline, we should be good. :-)
