I have yet to hear of a single Carson supporter who switched his/her vote to Cruz at the last minute because of the CNN story. In fact, Carson still received a higher percentage of the vote than polls indicated he would.

Add to that the fact that there is not a scintilla of evidence that even remotely suggests Cruz cheated. But that doesn't stop you from lying about it.

Take a deep breath and slow down.

OK, I’ll give you all the points you raise. Now, where did CNN say that Carson was “suspending or dropping out? Again, if the Cruz campaign saw the original tweet that said Carson was going to Florida until Thursday...how come they didn’t see the tweet that said he wasn’t dropping out?

You can’t have it both ways. Forget Carson, he’s as good as gone. My beef is your boy says he isn’t the typical Washington politician, quotes scripture and wraps himself in his outsider status. Truth is, he’s just another politician who will do ANYTHING to get a vote.

I was optimistic when Cruz announced. I listened to his speech at Liberty University and thought here is someone I can support. Since that time though, I’ve come to realize he’s not exactly who he says he is.

You may be interested in another thread, just started, that says Cruz may be involved in push-polling in South Carolina.

I take no issue with your support of Cruz, But I do find it tough to take when his supporters resort to “blaming the victim” as a defense. You know...” he’s almost out of money...it’s unusual to take a break during a campaign...her clothes were too tight...she was asking for it...” If you want my vote, be a stand-up guy.

Lee Atwater...sure I know of him. Ronald Reagan too. Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, 41 and 43 too. I worked on each of their local details when I was still an active LEO.

So I guess Ted should change his slogan from “TrusTed” to “TrusTed...just don’t look behind the curtain...”

It is so obvious Trump was the victim of voter fraud.

It is so obvious that you have been smoking crack.

No way he loses the Iowa caucus. Not possible.

When Trump refuses to invest in a ground game, leaving a large number of precincts without a Trump spokesperson at the most critical part of the caucus process, then a Trump victory is not possible.

They are not buying into a false narrative. They are knowingly perpetuating a false narrative.

Sadly, this is true.

Not quite true. Carson was at 10 percent in the last final poling. I watched the results come in and at one time he was up to 11 and then suddenly started dropping. That could be cuz others were growing, but this whole Carson was in single digits in the final poll is so wrong and many many have said that.

I don’t know the answer to that, but given that it was publicly available in one form makes it hard to believe that they were trying to conceal it. It wouldn’t take much sleuthing to find the filing in the Senate side of it.

Agreed, but if I remember correctly there was some adverse publicity when it was revealed Cruz’s wife was an executive at Goldman.

I don’t want to sound like tin foil hat material, but it could have been in response to that information. Campaign thinking they could amend the report at a later date.

Just strange that it would be on one and not the other. And before you mention it...I am aware we are talking about two different staffs (Senate vs. Campaign)

Ahhh, it’s an ugly race and everybody’s too invested. We should all tone it down a bit.

THey said he was leaving Iowa , he left before the caucus, which he did that he was not going to NH or SC the next 2 pivotal primaries, which he has not and that there would be a “major announcement” from the campaign, which there has been he has gutted his staff.

When you add all these things up it sure looks like a suspending of the campaign.

Additionally the campaign leadership has been in chaos, it is very likely that people who left still are in contact with people in the campaign about 70 people at this point. They may have very good info on what is going on internally.

I don’t care about the push polling Reagan did push polling did you ever hear about Lee Atwood he was no choirboy.

As to not being a typical politician, IMHO Cruz fits that description. I base on his actions while in congress not by campaigning and playing hardball.

HE stood against Obamacare as he told his constituents he would, he stood against the gang of eight bill, he called out McConnell when lied about the export import bank he and Paul opposed the collection of meta data of American citizens by the NSA.

Is he perfect?

No way, but Jesus isn’t walking through the door to run for office. He is the best I have seen since Reagan.

Politics is a tough business,. Carson is a nice guy AFAIK but the guy is a marshmallow.

He is the strongest on all the issues and it ain’t close. Especially compared the the narcissist rmp the RIMO’s or Carson who was in way over his head.

Cruz is facing Trump the establishment both Dem and Pub and the Media including Foz. He isn’t going to win by being polite to everyone. This is a bare knuckled fight to try to save the country.

He shouldn’t give any quarter because he won’t be treated fairly or given any quarter.

Ever been in a war, you fight to stay alive and the other guy isn’t concerned about the rules.

At two GOP Debate Watch Parties (Quaker Steak & Lube, St. Pete, FL) I have openly praised Dr. Ben Carson and encouraged all attendees to watch his movie "Gifted Hands", although I am an official Ted Cruz Florida Campaigner.

Having said that, Dr. Ben Carson, as brilliant as he is, has run a disasterous Presidential Campaign.

Dr. Ben Carson is now whining about a pathetic fourth-place Iowa finish, BLOWING his previous 4-week straight Iowa polling lead.

And of course, it's ALL Ted Cruz's fault.

It's clearly Ted Cruz's fault that Ben Carson suspended his Presidntial campaign for two week to promote Carson's new book (/sarcasm-off).

It's clearly Ted Cruz's fault that one-half of Ben Carson's campaign team leadership QUIT two weeks before the Iowa vote (/sarcasm-off).

It's clearly Ted Cruz's fault that Ben Carson wasted two weeks on a STUPID Middle East visit, instead of campaigning in all of Iowa's 99 counties (/sarcasm-off).

It's clearly Ted Cruz's fault that Dr. Ben Carson's debate performances have been PATHETIC ... or worse (/sarcasm-off).

It's clearly Ted Cruz's fault that Dr. Ben Carson announced that Carson was leaving Iowa for a Florida trip (and NOT campaigning in Iowas) ... (/sarcasm-off).

Picture yourself as an Iowa Caucus Voter.

If CNN had floated a political rumor that Donald Trump was going to suspend his campaign after Iowa ... NO ONE WOULD HAVE BELIEVED IT.

Why ?

Donald Trump (like him or not) is a GENUINELY serious Presidential candidate.

If CNN had floated a political rumor that Marco Rubio was going to suspend his campaign after Iowa ... NO ONE WOULD HAVE BELIEVED IT.

Why ?

Marco Rubio (like him or not) is a GENUINELY serious Presidential candidate.

In the 2016 GOP Presidential race, Dr. Ben Carson is simply a black version of Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Rand Paul, and Jim Gilmore.

Maybe nice guys ... but NONE really serious about getting elected President.

At least Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum have had the grace and dignity to drop-out.

All Dr. Ben Carson wants to do is whine about BLOWING his (once incredible) Iowa lead ...

Maybe Dr. Ben Carson can go contemplate his "political stupidity" in one of those Egyptian Pyramid Grain Silos ...

You need to go back and read the CNN transcript.

CNN said Carson was giving his speech early because he was trying to get out of Iowa before the heavy snow that was forecast. If you listened to Fox at any time prior to the caucus, the snow was one of the major topics of discussion because the news people themselves were worried about travel.

CNN NEVER said anything about a “MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT.” That information was part of a tweet that came from the Cruz campaign.

CNN also said he was not going directly to New Hampshire or S. Carolina. He was going to Washington on Thursday for the Prayer Breakfast. Both Jake Tapper and Dana Basch thought it was “unusual.”

Please base your arguments on FACTS, not the tweets that came from the Cruz campaign. I stand by my original statement, the Cruz campaign thought they could pick up some votes by trying to confuse some caucus voters. Otherwise, why say anything at all?

While CNN deserves some blame for sloppy reporting, this is all on the Cruz campaign for attempting to pick up votes.

CNN did clarify that Carson WASN’T dropping out, how come that information wasn’t tweeted or sent via voice-mail to the Cruz caucus people?

Your guy got caught...he apologized..time to move on. But please don’t tell me your guy is a Washington outsider who will change the way things are done. He’s just another slick politician who tried to take advantage of the situation to advance his position. I’d respect him more if he would just admit it.

Here’s the CNN transcript:

Jake Tapper: Dr. Ben Carson...what have we learned?

Dana Basch: We should say our Chris Moody is breaking this...that Ben Carson is going to go back to Florida to his home regardless of how he does tonight here in Iowa. He’s going to go there for several days and then afterwards he’s not going to go to So. Carolina, he’s not going to go to New Hampshire, he’s going to come to Wash. D.C. and he’s going to do that because the National Prayer Breakfast is on Thurs. If you have been following Ben Carson’s career you know that that’s where he got himself on the political map. Attending that prayer breakfast and really giving it to president obama at the time.....and he became kind of a hero among conservatives and evangelicals especially.

Dana: But it’s very unusual.

Tapper: Very unusual.

Dana: To be announcing that you’re going home to rest for a few days....not going on to the next site..plus he’s already announced that he’ll be coming out and speaking at 9:15 local and 10:15 eastern no matter whether or not we know the results ..uh....because he wants to get home and get ahead of the storm.

Dana: Look if you want to be president of the United States...you don’t go home to Florida. Why...I mean that’s just the bottom line, end of story. You want to signal to your supporters that you want it...that you’re hungry for it and that if you want them to get out and campaign...you’ve got to be out there doing it too. It’s very unusual.

Tapper: Very unusual news that CNN has just learned and Chris Moody is breaking this story...Wolf back to you in Wash.

Wolf: Very significant news indeed guys.

Do you see anything that says Carson is quitting, other than speculation on the part of Tapper and Basch? And where is the “big announcement” you referenced?

Again, most of the stuff you cited comes from the Cruz campaign.

I’m not going to beat a dead horse here. Carson might as well stay in Florida. But please be honest enough to recognize your guy isn’t the Washington outsider he claims to be. He is just as bad as the GOPe types without the pedigree.

His principles and policy positions are based on the constitution unlike the establishment or Trump (authoritarian).

I am not talking about policy and while Jefferson was notorious for the dirty tricks he pulled on Adams I don’t think this principle was based on any Constitutional language.

I respect your support of Cruz. If elected, I hope he doesn’t disappoint those who support him. I, on the other hand, have a suspicion that he is just another Washington politician who will do anything or say anything to get elected.

We have that in a President now. I was hoping we (conservatives) wouldn’t have to hold our nose to pull the lever this election cycle.
