I was really disappointed to hear Rush spend so much time defending Rubio today as a “True Conservative.” If he wants to stay above the fray until the primary is over then he should just spend his show pointing out how bad Hillary and Bernie are and leave the Republican field to fight it out amongst themselves.
So, that should have been “win the general election”, not the “nomination”.
Even Obama was more qualified than Rubio. What has Rubio EVER done?

I should have said the GOPE incoming will be behind and effort to get Cruz out, and throw everything in, in order to make a two man race for Rubio against my guy, TRUMP.
On the “scorched earth” term, as related to Cruz, has hurt him and will be reflected in the polls, because not everyone thinks dirty tricks are fine, including some Evangelicals.
Between messing up his own reputation all by himself, and the GOPE/Rubio/TRUMP assault is unleashed against Cruz, I think Rubio can rise to second and threaten TRUMP in a two man race.

Cruz hasn’t committed “scorched earth” as much as Trump, IMO. They should both cut it out as that may allow Rubio to advance. Evangelicals do not, you are correct. 1) Evangelicals aren’t stupid either, and seeing as the Carson dustup isn’t malicious they won’t abandon Cruz (if it were that WOULD be a different story).

One of the Anti-federalists said the same thing about Alexander Hamilton and his phony professions of republican sentiment (he was actually a centrist, damn near a Phalangist, or as they called it at the time, "Empire without the king"); but nobody actually did anything about it until Aaron Burr shot him.
I love how everyone says that Trump is done because he said he’d make deals.
I’m wondering, based on what we’ve seen so far, do you think the deals he’s going to make will be a victory for the other side?
Is his dealmaking going to be any different than obamas?

I could be way off, but I do know one thing. I don’t know with 100% certainty that Trump will do everything he has said he’ll do. But everyone else up there(except for Carson and Fiorina), has played a major role in bringing this country to the edge. And I know that others will continue screwing us.
Cruz won’t be able to get anything done. The Dem’s will hold up everything and anything. And most of the Republican politicians hate him. So, he’ll get no cooperation.
The only thing Cruz would be good for, is picking people for SCOTUS(maybe, depends on who Goldman Sach and the CFR want in there).

That "he can't get anything done" is RiNO propaganda, and a smear of Cruz.
No, if as President he cleans out the 'Rats in two legs of the Iron Triangle through authority and influence, and if he leads conservatives in Congress in an insurrection against "K" Street money, he could mount a successful insurrection-from-above against Yurtle the Turtle and his sycophants and dependents, purging RiNO power in the Senate and opening the way to impeachment of Leftist SC justices and prosecution of the principal malefactors of the Clinton and Obama crime machines.
If Cruz has to fight a revolutionary war of extermination against the RiNO's in our own party first, then that is what he'll have to do. Pursuing them with the sword of justice is the best plan: their corruption has been their power, and it can be their downfall. America's ripe for a "great justice" and the fall of so many rotten, evil people.
