Jeb: ‘Absolutely Absurd’ to Suggest We Get Out for Rubio—‘I’m In It For The Long-Haul’

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL) said after his opponent Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79% came in a close third in the Iowa caucus which was far below where he was poling, the suggestion that other candidates drop put so Rubio has a clear path to the nomination is “absolutely absurd.”

Host Martha MacCallum asked, “This morning Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)94% dropped out of this race. There is a lot of talk in Republican circles that there is pressure on you and others to get out and pave the way for Marco Rubio right now. Your thoughts on that.”

Bush said, “That’s ridiculous. We had one election. Not single delegate has been selected, not a single delegate. Marco Rubio came in third place in a caucus state, and we are all supposed to bow out. It’s absolutely absurd. I’m going to earn this by working hard and laying out a case that I have the leadership skills to fix what’s going on in Washington, D.C. We need to change the culture. We need to fix the economic situation. That message will resonate and I’m in it for the long-haul.”

For your consideration, here's a theory I posted earlier:

Jeb has said he would be the nominee and I lol'ed out loud at such a funny joke.

But...there is a lot of donor money pouring in and there is a lot of power at stake, too.

Does the two-term Bush Family fold and walk away from a possible to highly likely threepeat?

The fact is, the first and third place finishers in Iowa are both anchor babies, though of different countries.

If the NBC/eligibility issue ever goes to court, and the court follows precedent, it is highly unlikely the court will say that either Cruz or Rubio are natural born citizens.

Should all of that happen, regardless of how or by whom, where do their supporters go?

If Trump gets the blame, he probably won't be getting the Cruz or Rubio voters.

And that leaves?

Jeb! as the last man standing to protect US from the Clinton Crime Family and Bernie the socialist.

If he were a horse, he’d be put down.

Watch ...Somewhere down the line either Cruz or Rubio or both will be found to be inelegible to run because not natural born . By this time others will have already dropped out . Guess who benefits ?

Either he’s thinking of the very weird way IA used to choose its delegates (Santorum won last time, but got zero delegates!), or he may be referring to the fact that while we know how MANY he is going to get, they won’t be named until May.
