MOINES â Late Monday night, supporters of Hillary Clinton gathered for what they expected would be a victory rally.
Over the weekend, her campaign had exuded confidence, with some advisers predicting she would win the Iowa caucuses by several percentage points, and by Monday evening, they were urging news outlets to call the race in her favor. Mrs. Clinton prepared a victory speech in which she virtually ignored her rival, Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, and attacked the Republican candidates.
Then the caucus results started rolling in. And everything changed.
The outcome in Iowa â which at least until Tuesday afternoon appeared to be effectively a tie with a far left senator from a small New England state â dealt a jolting psychological blow to the Clinton campaign, leaving volunteers, donors and aides confused throughout the night, and then crestfallen. They had hoped that the former secretary of state would garner a decisive victory here and put to rest any doubts about her strength as a candidate.

She’s a flipping genius!
Dollars to donuts NH goes for next door neighbor, Bernie the Socialist.
This should in no way be misinterpreted as support for Bernie Sanders, but, I kind of feel sorry for him. He just got a taste of the corruption that will not allow him to win the nomination.
The more I read the more I think there were hijinks on both sides. No wonder the establishment is confident of the outcome.
Bill looked like he has dementia. His mouth was open for long times. Eyes glazed.
Low energy.
Bill is a busy guy. It’s not easy keeping up with the campaign trail and Energizer both.
Bill has always been a mouth breather. Andy Rooney commented on it when Slick was in the Monica mess.
Hill will lose to Old Red in NH, so she’d better rein in her DNC attack dogs fast. Easier to rig a caucus than a primary . . .
Oh yeah, the will of the people is coalescing behind Bernie "Wob Songs" Sanders, and he's gonna win the nomination. It'll be all 100% above board and not underhanded or illegal at all. No lying involved. And Hillary will congratulate him in complete sincerity, then retire to write highly truthful works of history.
And Michael Moore is going to become the next Weight Watcher spokesman.
I would take Bernie over that liar Hillary any day of the week...
For dog catcher, yeah. Bernie would at least look like a bone to chew on, entice the stray dogs right out from under the porch.
