Campaigns lower expectations in Iowa, brace for Trump win
CNN ^ | 01/30/2016 | Manu Raju

Ted Cruz has crisscrossed Iowa, headed to all 99 counties and has aggressively targeted this state‘s evangelical voters. Jeb Bush hired a top Iowa operative and had 30 paid staffers to build his operation here, while saying last summer that he still hoped to win the Hawkeye State.

And Marco Rubio has dropped more money on TV than any other candidate, culminating in a 30-minute advertisement he‘s launching in media markets across the state.

But each of these candidates have something in common: They are bracing for a Donald Trump win in Iowa and planning for the aftermath.

Jeb! Was just on He’s telling everyone that they are doing much better then expected. (Are they planning on cheating?). ;-)

Bloated ConMan can win Iowa because the Constitutional Conservatives are split. Without so much competition, head-to-head Cruz would win.

“They are bracing for a Donald Trump win in Iowa and planning for the aftermath”

The aftermath will just be more Trump wins.

I don’t think that approach is going over well with the voters. And I doubt anybody will try it again in the near future.

Mr. Exclamation Point has been quietly moving members of the Bush family to Iowa.

I heard it said, that Cruz and Rubio are in a battle actually for “third place”. (An interesting turn of expressions.)

Question: What exactly is Cruz’ floor? Where would it appear? Is this it, in the state of Iowa, where he placed all of his chips with Iowa Evangelicals, only to see Trump leading him, with them?

But Ted is a super genius and master debater you know that right ... right? He is so funny hilarious. He a shrill political hack like the rest of them it seems. Some PAC running ads on 870AM The Answer in LA with Ted shouting is a bit over the top. They think this is helping.

Another week of Mark Levin defending his man crush up coming. Should be fun tune in to listen to Mark bellyache.

The way you keep hearing about a Trump win makes me wonder if ‘They’ are trying to get Trump caucus go’ers complacent in order to hurt the turnout.

Mr. Exclamation Point has been quietly moving illegal aliens and members of the Bush family to Iowa to caucus for him!

To reveal your neighbor’s voting record is really sleazy. I am surprised it is even legal.

Pray America wakes

I don't think that approach is going over well with the voters. And I doubt anybody will try it again in the near future.

I can see campaigns being dumb enough to do it again. During the Romney vs. Obama election, the local Republican Party was monitoring daily reports from the Clerk & Recorder's office about who had voted so far (mail-in ballots). Registered Republicans who had not voted yet got phone calls from the local party nagging them to do so. I was told that some people had to be pestered five times before they voted. If I had gotten such harassing calls, I would have been on the phone to the sheriff after the second one.

Constitutional Conservatives are split.

I've never heard you say Trump was conservative, so I'm puzzled.

Obviously Cruz is conservative, but who is the other one?

Serious question.

Shouldn’t you be protesting with the Occupy Wall St crowd. Just because he hasn’t lived off the gummit his entire life does not disqualify him. Who in America is pure enough for you purists?
