Trump Announces 22 Veterans Group to Receive $6 Million Raised at Iowa Rally

Trump announced he was donating $1 million on top of $5 million in similar and somewhat smaller sized donations from friends and supporters of Trump, including online donations that brought the total to over $6 million. A website set up by Trump Thursday morning, DonaldTrumpforVets.com to accept online donations stated $570,000 had been raised via the website as of Thursday night. The donations were being collected by the Donald J. Trump Foundation for disbursement to the veterans groups.

Four of the groups are based in Iowa: The Mulberry Street Veterans Shelter, Projects for Patriots, Puppy Jake and Support Siouxland Soldiers.

The veterans site was still up this AM. It's well over $600,000 from small donors now.

I agree entirely, and was expecting one or two big checks to nationally known groups. But this makes so much more sense, having a few extra bucks allows smaller organizations to do so much more because of their low overhead and direct contact with vets rather than through surrogates.

The border is a major theme in this debate, thanks to Trump, because without borders you don’t have a country. But without warriors who later become veterans, a country won’t exist for long. We owe our veterans everything we have, most importantly our freedom.
