How to watch Donald Trump's veterans event
CNN ^ | 1/28/16 | Tom Kludt

But Donald Trump upended Fox's plans by choosing to skip the latest Republican debate in favor of his own fundraiser for veterans in Des Moines, Iowa, creating unexpected competition for the cable news channel.

"All networks will be present and have the opportunity to carry live," Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks told CNNMoney.

CBSN, the network's 24/7 streaming news network, will cover Trump's wounded warrior fundraiser, according to a CBS spokesman.

At least one cable news channel is going wall-to-wall with Trump starting at 9 p.m. One America News, a conservative news channel that launched in 2013, plans to air Trump's program live and in its entirety. The fledgling channel had tried to win sponsorship of a Republican National Committee debate, but was unsuccessful.

OAN has "positioned a satellite transmission truck at the event for multiple camera, broadcast quality live coverage," according to channel president Charles Herring.

"We are getting flooded with inquiries from our viewers on whether One America News will carry Mr. Trump's event live," Herring told CNNMoney. "Clearly, there is high demand for tonight's event."

You know I am nuts. All day I was so worried about how he is going to get people to go to this event tonight because of short notice.

How dumb of me. I am seeing on the news that their is a line of thousands of people waiting to get into this event. Trump has an overflow crowd with large screens.

Holy cow. Trump needs a stadium for tonight. I can’t believe it.

I am so proud of Trump. Holy cow he did good. This is going to be a tremendous event. Anybody skipping this to watch that debate is stupid.

I have chills looking at that line of patriotic Americans who some of them have been waiting literally all day.

Trump is also having Veterans at the event.

I think that tonight there are going to be a ton of tissues and blurry tv screens and computer screens.

I am so proud of Santorum and Huckster too.

Lord this might just turn out to be the event of the year. I can’t believe it.

Trump 2016.

I am so excited. Trump is going to win the Presidency. I have no doubt in my mind now.

Name one other candidate who could do this and have it succeed.......maybe Bernie. But who cares about him.

Tonight is going to be a blast. I am so proud to be watching this patriotic event.

Or I could walk over on my home from work!
But too many otrher things planned for tonight.

I work in downtown Des Moines. Lots of stuff going on as one would expect.
The main debate is just up the street at the Iowa Events Center as well.
The 2 locations are about 2 miles apart

“Yeah those damn veterans are ruining your night. Lord how kind of you.”

The money goes directly to the Donald J. Trump Foundation which gave a total of $57,000 in donations to veterans groups from 2009 to 2013, which amounted to far less than Trump’s donations to the Clinton Foundation.

I don't care. I gave 50 dollars and I think it is smart of Trump to ensure that the money goes to the right place. After Wounded Warrior disaster, it is best for Trump to take his time and give it to a good group. If you think that Trump is going to keep the money that is equivalent to us keeping 500 dollars, you are nuts. He has more money in his pocket then what has been collected.

I have thought about actually! Trumps not my guy; but it is very interesting to see some of this stuff up close with all the candidates.
And being downtown Des Moines; the media types are are set up all over.
THe Bloomberg show was doing a live show at the Marriott an hour ago when when I walked by.
It will be nice to have it over; sounds like a blizzard here on Monday night/Tuesday.
Tge New York media types will LOVE being snowed in here another day!!

BTW the Trump Foundation has one of the LOWEST overhead admin costs of any major charity. You can GOOGLE that yourself.
