With just four days to go until the Iowa caucuses, Donald Trump has pulled ahead of Ted Cruz with a seven-point lead among likely Iowa GOP caucus-goers, while Hillary Clinton remains just three points in front of Bernie Sanders on the Democratic side, according to a trio of new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polls.

Iowa

In the Hawkeye State, real estate mogul Donald Trump now leads the GOP pack with 32 percent support from likely GOP caucus-goers. Texas senator Ted Cruz gets 25 percent, Florida senator Marco Rubio has 18 percent, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has eight percent and former Florida governor Jeb Bush has four percent. All other Republican candidates get just two percent backing apiece from likely caucus-goers.

The results are an improvement for Trump, who trailed Cruz 24 percent to 28 percent in the same poll less than three weeks ago.

Tippy toes can’t overcome that. Even tough for common core.

Wow. Rubes as close to Cruz as Cruz is to Trump in Iowa. Trump is looking very good. If he sweeps these first three it’s over. It may be over after he wins Iowa. Love the quote that Trump’s supporters are committed and turning out. That’s leadership.

Hopefully DT will expose Murdock’s relationshio with Amnesty and the incestuous relationship between Rubio campaign and the organizer of the debates
Truth will out

Probably Cruz. He doesn’t know what to do if he isn’t attached to Trump’s coattails. Lol.

Would Huck make a good VP? Would DT choose him? We’ll know within a few months, I guess.

I don’t see what he would bring. He has no voters, lacks the constitutional knowledge of Cruz, doesn’t share a lot of Trump’s positions.

Marco is hanging in there. Cruz needs to take him out tonight at debate. Forget about Trump. Focus on Rubio.

I mentioned in another thread where I see Rubio cutting into the Cruz vote pretty hard, giving Trump a solid win. The Canadian thing has hurt Cruz badly; and after a while, he becomes pretty annoying.

I have been stumped by who Trump might pick. At first I thought it might have been Rand Paul but Rand is not very nice to Trump. I don’t think it will be Huckabee because I don’t think Huckabee plays well to the entire country and he is too different than Trump. I do think that Trump will need to get somebody with foreign policy experience. I would not be surprised if it is Rubio although I tend to think it may be somebody out of politics but in government like a former general, possibly Odierno or Petraeus if his plea bargain doesn’t prevent him from being considered. That would be so Trump to put Petraeus on the ticket and run around the country saying this man’s career was destroyed over one email while Hilary has thousands of emails and nobody does anything to her. That probably would not work for optics but my premise of a general may work.
