Veterans group to Trump: Keep your donations
KESQ ^

Posted on 01/27/2016 3:15:40 PM PST by Perdogg

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America founder Paul Rieckhoff tweeted Wednesday that he would decline any contributions that came from the event, which Trump has proposed in place of his attending Fox News' debate this week.

"If offered, @IAVA will decline donations from Trump's event. We need strong policies from candidates, not to be used for political stunts," he said.

“...We need strong policies from candidates, not to be used for political stunts...”

Yet, as you posted, had no problem being the poster child during the political signing (stunt).

As better man, at the least, would have silently refuse, behind the scenes, stating they did not wish to get in the middle of the politics. Course, a bigger man would suck up his ego and thank D.T. for the generous donation that would surely benefit many vets.

Still, it does not bode well for WWP. I’ll up my donations to the Salvation Army instead, or go direct.

"Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America"

Who?

Do they have a VSO at the local VA?

Do they do ANY kind of vet support work or charity?

This member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans has never even heard of them.

The sound like a small group formed for political reasons rather than doing anything real.

OK, I looked these a$$holes up.

Opposed to blaming Obama for Track Palin's legal troubles.

Supports the gaying of the military

"Most diverse vets org in America"...3/4 of the images on their site are of non-white people.

It's a leftist vet organization. We've had them for years.

185,000 total members. I seriously doubt they were offered ANYTHING from the Trump event. Certainly no money.

If offered,

Since the offer really wasn't made as yet, sounds like this self promoting pimp just got his "look at me" moment.............

It would be interesting to see the financial records of HIS organization as well as his salary..........

Excellent post. Go to the local VFW. Here in southern Arizona, there are camps of homeless vets. All of the local churches know the camps and directly assist the vets.
I hope Donald Trump has someone reading this thread and knows not to give up just because of some dirt bag.

Looks like no charity has this issue with Cruz because he’s such a cheapskate and hardly donates anything.

He came up with a Law/Bill. To help our veterans. And you truly believe he should have said, “FU” to the guy signing it into law. Now, I’m no fan of obama so don’t pull the typical move by claiming that.

The fact that he is proposing a law or bill puts him smack in the middle of politics! Think! You want to pass a law or Bill but you want to completely stay out of politics???? Please tell me how that is possible? ‘Cause it’s not.

He never should have said anything to be honest. This is obviously a pull for free advertising. I will admit that.
The other stuff is just crap ‘cause he said something about trump and that upsets the trump fanatics.

Talk about political stunts. Turning away money that will benefit your charity to jump into the political fray and take sides. What a loser. Do you care about your charity, or are you going to sacrifice the cause you claim to support to score points against a candidate you don’t support. That’s called putting politics first, your charity second.

No. My point was if he didn’t want to be ‘political’, at least be consistent. The law signing didn’t need HIM there to be passed; he was used a POLITICAL prop....w/ no complaints.

I concur on your last point. He should have QUIETLY done what he thinks needed to be done. IMO, he harmed WWP more than he helped.

Gonna get difficult to ‘walk it back’
