MSNBC's "Morning Joe" co-host Joe Scarborough on Wednesday morning applauded Donald Trump's refusal to participate in the Thursday debate hosted by Fox News, comparing Trump to Ronald Reagan.
"Thatâs Trump at his very best. He made a lot of great points there," Scarborough said after playing a clip of Trump's press conference discussing his decision to pull out of the debate.
During the presser, Trump said it was childish for Fox News to send out a press release mocking Trump's complaints that Fox host Megyn Kelly treats him unfairly. The news organization released a statement joking that they "learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president."
Scarborough said Trump's comments were "stinging because it looked like a childish press release."

That press release was pot meet kettle.
Trump deserved to be ridiculed for his whiny butthurt comments regarding Megyn Kelly.
Fox News should not have been doing the ridiculing.
Joe and Mika both.
And Joe called FNC stupid for not kissing Trump’s butt like they do, Trump was on MSNBC Joe yesterday talking about getting along great with Pelosi and working with her.
Trump has got Joe and Mika in love with him.
They recommend that all the others quit the race as they cant win against him.
Its love-fest time on that show.
BTW : Lame Fox and Friends show beats the crap out of MSNBC Joe show. And that show is weak.
Joe gets it. He’s warned his peers to not underestimate Trump. They played him for stupid and got bit - hard. Trump owned them like we have never seen a candidate own the media. A brilliant demonstration of leadership - something we haven’t see for so long many don’t ever recognize it for what it is.
Trump sticks it Fux and the entire field.
Tremendous move.
Now there will be two kiddie table debates.
And Trump is the center of attention again as Iowa approaches.
The guy strikes me as even more thin-skinned than the current occupier of the White House.

Lil Joey better hope Donnie does not take a hard left hand turn because it will break his nose.
Any questions asked should be asked of all participants.
Any "gotcha" questions tailored to harass a specific participant should result in the immediate expulsion of the offending moderator.
When you have Scarborough and Hewitt praising Trump you know there’s a problem.
The Fox debate was a joke.
The Fox people, like Kelly, but not just her, are a joke.
But the debate was scheduled a long time ago and Kelly was always scheduled to be in it.
Trump is playing prevent defense, trying to run out the clock.
Fox slandered him. Trump has a long history of terminating negotiations with people who do so. This is not a surprise move.
I think it’s a soap opera.
Trump acts like a woman on the verge of a breakdown.
Good theater, like a chick flick.
So let me get this straight:
I’m supposed to jettison Rush and Mark Levin, both of whom have helped define conservatism for the last few decades.
I’m supposed to love Joe Scarborough, who has been a moderate squish and MSM mouthpiece that we at FR have derided for years.
All because of what they say about Trump. This does not compute...
You are so brainwashed by slick talking lawyers you don’t even hear real conversation by a real American any more.
The people who support Trump are the same people who call Beck nuts. I find that very, very funny.
You can do whatever you want. I could not care less. That post was for those interested. If you don’t like it move on and further your cause some place else! Really simple.
