Maquoketa, Iowa (CNN)The tail end of Ted Cruz's stump speech Monday was half preacher's pulpit, half standup comedy hour.
Ending his stump speech here at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, Cruz, as always, encouraged Iowans to pray and cited his dose of Scripture -- 2 Corinthians 7:14.
"We are standing on the promises of Second Corinthians, 7:14," he said in the eastern Iowa town, before an untimely interruption.
"Two Corinthians!" a man shouted from the third row...

He surely meant 2 Chronicles 7:14. “If my people who are called by my name....”
This is about the 893rd think on my list of worries. And instead of saying second, its fine to say “2”. And im not voting for national preacher.
The list of most pious includes Bush, Carter, Huckabee, little Ricky Santorum, etc.
No thanks.
I agree
Not respectful of the subject matter, Ted.
Just a little gentle ribbing.
Oddly enough, it seems like Ted Cruz slipped up here. I I’m guessing that he meant 2nd Chronicles 7:14. I do not think we’re standing on whatever boasts Paul made to Titus.
Two presidential contenders walk into a bar, Trump and Cruz. The native-born American says, “I don’tr drink, so make mine a club soda, and Make America Great Again.”

Yes it is!
These cruzer losers need to remember the one commandment and the two commandment
You shall have no other gods before Me.
You shall not make idols.
I say Second Corinthians. Most people say Second Corinthians But I’ve heard a couple preachers say Two Corinthians.
As Hillary The Wise has taught us, “What damn difference does it make now, anyway!?”
Given how much Ted Cruz has referenced Christianity in his campaigning, I consider it a much graver, indicative sin that Cruz has not followed the recommended tithe of 10%. Actually nowhere near it.
Trump doesn’t portray himself as much of a Christian. I therefore don’t expect much from him. Cruz should not go down this road or he deserves what he gets if Trump lays him bare for not walking the walk after talking the talk.
Keep talking Ted Cruz, your true colors are showing... and they aren’t Christian colors....
2Co 7:14
For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.
2 Corinthians 7:14
“For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.”
LOL!! We could have fun with this, no?
Donald Trump attempting to quote that scripture was a lot like Hillary Clinton channeling Mrs. Cleaver in front of a black audience or John Kerry going verbally redneck buying a hunting license. It won’t change anyone’s vote, but clumsy pretense of being something he’s not was worth a good laugh.
You beat me to it.
He obviously confused II Corinthians 7:14 and II Chronicles 7:14.
Make of that what you will.
2 Corinthians walked into a bar, and said “ouch”.
No one has yet succeeded in making a funny joke out of this.
The bartender says . . .
Failure to tithe is not a sin, unless you are in a different church than I ever belonged to. I guess it goes along with the “never forget to pay the “power company” for they can turn off your “salvation”.
