Several states(demon strongholds) have started floating
the idea - of HUGE taxes on ammunition- 5 or 10 cents
a bullet to start- just like New York city and their
$5.85 !! on a pack of cigarettes- this is coming to
a box of ammo— no wait...
that would be TOO CHEAP.. how about $50.00 per box?

Actually, you point out a factor gun owners should address. We need to prepare a cache to hide our guns in the event of confiscation. There are plenty of videos out there of police swat teams going house to house, in full battle harness, in New Orleans following the hurricane to confiscate firearms. This would certainly happen again if the govt. were to declare an "emergency" only the military and national guard would also be involved. I don't care how many rifles you have, if 10 fully armed soldiers show up on y our doorstep to take your guns they are going to get them, unless you have a substantial part of your collection and ammo squirreled away somewhere. I was thinking about a storage locker somewhere but I imagine if the SHTF those will be the first places that get taken over. Or would they? What do you think?

I have never, ever had anyone tell me that he had too much ammunition.

It may not have happened to you, yet, but it seems to me like the 0bama regime and MSM are setting the stage for defining how much ammunition is too much - note how they go out of their way to say how much ammo some of these terrorists have, even though, sometimes, what they have is not that much out of the ordinary.

The crime is in what someone does with their ammunition, but it seems to me like having too much, as defined by them, is about to be a crime.

Running low. Quit buying when prices and supply went out of sight. Looks like supply and pricing is pretty good. Not what it was years ago but not completely insane.

Not to hijack the thread but I went to the CMP range in Talladega Sat. with the girlfriend. Fantastic facility. No exaggeration, probably the nicest shooting facility in the nation. Really. The 600 yd range has to be seen to be believed. Targets at 200, 300 and 600 yds. 50 stations. Electronic scoring for targets. Instant feedback. Saves ammo and instant gratification.

One other thing. Don’t mess with my lady! At 200 yds just shot after shot in the black. Generic 5.56 with 1x3.5 scope. .308 Winchester featherweight with Nikon 4X.

Also popped off about 60 rds. at the pistol range. 50 feet at a torso cutout. First couple of mags she shot I said “you’re shooting high. You’re hitting the head.” She said “that’s what I’m aiming at”. Excuse me! This with a Glock 43. No target pistol.

Same exact plan here. I see little advantage to ‘bugging out’ away from my very rural backwoods home. If we were in the big city then perhaps that would be an option.

Not just WTSHTF, but walking around every day, packing heat. At least for now, that’s somewhat “unexpected” and that can be an advantage.
