For constitutional conservatives, the Republican contest functioned less like a primary and more like an abandonment. Politically orphaned by their party, conservatives were forced to either stay home or hold their noses and vote for a progressive Republican.

Something I am finding we will once again be doing. Something we have been doing now for 32 years. And conservatives keep wondering why conservatism doesn’t rise once again? Because we are about to enter another American Idol election built on hope and change, hold our noses and pull the lever.
In this culture today even Reagan would not be elected. I have no doubt about it.
