The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will weigh new rules intended to encourage more diversity among its membership and its nominations, The Times has learned.
The academy's 51-member Board of Governors has added the diversity issue to the agenda for its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday night in response to an outcry over an all-white slate of acting nominees for the second year in a row, according to a person briefed on the matter.

Institute a Designated Negro Oscar. The winner can display it over there next to the Coloreds water fountain.
Lol...more affirmative action/soft bigotry of low expectations. How condescending it will be to have a, “best actor,” award followed by a, “best actor of color.” The only other viable solution would be to bar white actors/actresses from contention.
THey should fold immediately and nominate a “Best in Black Category” actor. That would be hilarious!
Nominate only black actors and producers for the next 100 years. The more racist, the better.

If those Black Entertainment Awards weren’t just awarded to blacks, they’d have the ideal vehicle to have diverse awards from a black perspective.

Oscar reparations? With back monetary rewards and luxury bags from the green rooms? Yeah, that’d be fair. So, now, maybe I’ll sue because I wanted to be a famous actor and make gazillions of dollars and whine about it and didn’t get the opportunity even with all my white privilege.

Why not a Black Oscars ceremony? Maybe a Black Academy. Like the Black Caucus. We could start a White Caucus, Then White Entertainment Television to match Black Entertainment Television. Hey, a white History month would be fun and educational. Amazing they are asking for real segregation while my lifetime was spent watching them get rid if it.

I’m now waiting for the backlash of a transwoman being nominated for best actor instead of actress, or vice versa, I can’t keep that straight (pardon the pun) ;)
