Rubio Blew It, Would Let Illegal Immigrants That Don’t Commit Major Crimes Stay

Sen. Marco Rubio blew it. During his appearance on this morning's edition of NBC's Meet the Press Sen. Marco Rubio made a huge mistake when he said that illegal immigrants that haven't committed major crimes could be allowed to stay. According to NBC's Sally Bronston, when asked if he is still in favor of finding a way for millions of illegals to stay in the United States legally, Rubio replied:

If you're a criminal alien, no, you can't stay. If you're someone that hasn't been here for a very long time, you can't stay, I don't think you're gonna round up and deport 12 million people.

It doesn't matter that he went on to say, "It is very clear now more than ever that we are not going to be able to do anything on people that are illegally until we first prove to people that illegal immigration is under control and America is safe." Rubio's statement is going to make it even harder for him to win the Republican presidential nomination.

I thought Rubio had learned his lesson on his support for amnesty and his Gang of Eight deal with the Democrats. Last February he told the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that he had learned he was wrong on his approach to immigration reform. You can watch Rubio's mea culpa at about the 13:25 mark in this video. The Hill had the best write up about it:

Rubio wants to be governor of Florida. He’ll never say anything in his unlikely POTUS run that makes winning that race harder.

Kind of like adverse possession. You don’t enforce the law and it becomes non effectual so let them buy legal status.

Rubio is probably trying to get John McCamnesty’s endorsement after he heard that he was about to give it to Bush.

I had not considered that possibility but you may well be EXACTLY right. That possibility would explain a number of his recent actions that are, otherwise, inexplicable.

GOOD ANALYSIS!

Hell, let’s take the border-crossing out of the equation, just to sh!ts and giggles.

What do the Hispanderers think of driving w/out insurance (let alone the hit-n-runs, DUI/DWI), identity fraud/theft, tax fraud, visa/work over-stays, I-9/W-2/etc. fraud...just to name a few?

What ‘amnesty’ do the lawful American Citizen get?? Not sure I remember too many ‘catch and release’ when it comes to checkpoints, tax fraud, etc.

Yep! Rubio blew it!

Hey, Marco! Get in touch with Nikki Haley. She'll be retiring soon too.

This disqualifies Rubio from being President... these folks broke the law the moment they crossed the border.

It's NOT Rubio's country to give away. This country belongs to all Americans and 'the people' are sick and tired of damn elites acting like it's THEIR country to give away to donors... ( elites sell the country for cheap votes or cheap labor - either way it's wrong.) Enough is enough.

Rubio's campaign is financed by Silicon Valley/Cheap Labor Express/Borderless world billionaires. He is OWNED by them.

His politically expedient waffling on immigration is transparent.

He's slick. A slick typical professional politician. He needs to be primaried, not nominated.

Chuck Todd, the slimy little commie on MTP, coerced and brow beat Marco into an answer that seemed to allow illegals here to stay provided that they have not committed a felony. I’m not convinced that Rubio fully comprehended his answers. Either way, my opinion of Rubio is diminished.

Illegals are infamous here for not having auto insurance-if one of them hits your vehicle, they will drive away if they can, and your insurance company will end up paying for an accident involving a hit and run, an uninsured motorist-or both.

Mojados will do just about anything to keep from being snatched up by La Migra and taken back across the river, so how bad is it bound to get if they are given some kind of amnesty-not to mention how much it will cost taxpayers. Jobs are already scarce in the skilled trades-why make it worse by making it possible to pay even more illegals/lawbreakers under the table instead of hiring an American citizen? I work in construction, and I can tell you that the liberal spiel that illegals pay taxes is bulls***-they work for less, they are paid in cash, and the IRS will never see a 1099 form from them on April 15.

I am of Hispanic ancestry, have spoken Norteno/Texmex Spanish as my second language from earliest childhood-my family has been in what is now Texas for over 200 years-and like most of us who have been native-born for many generations, I have no use for mojados-send them all back, kids too...
