Sen. Marco Rubio blew it. During his appearance on this morning's edition of NBC's Meet the Press Sen. Marco Rubio made a huge mistake when he said that illegal immigrants that haven't committed major crimes could be allowed to stay. According to NBC's Sally Bronston, when asked if he is still in favor of finding a way for millions of illegals to stay in the United States legally, Rubio replied:
If you're a criminal alien, no, you can't stay. If you're someone that hasn't been here for a very long time, you can't stay, I don't think you're gonna round up and deport 12 million people.
It doesn't matter that he went on to say, "It is very clear now more than ever that we are not going to be able to do anything on people that are illegally until we first prove to people that illegal immigration is under control and America is safe." Rubio's statement is going to make it even harder for him to win the Republican presidential nomination.
I thought Rubio had learned his lesson on his support for amnesty and his Gang of Eight deal with the Democrats. Last February he told the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that he had learned he was wrong on his approach to immigration reform. At least he’s telling the truth this time, although he’d probably let major criminals stay, too.

Um, breaking our immigration laws IS a major crime.
It is official. Rubio has just now said, criminal aliens and illegal aliens will be allowed to stay in United States indefintely if they were not guilty of a felony.
Then they can stay. Forever.
For example, you are an ISIS sympathizer from Somalia with 14 other Somalis that with the help of the Mexican drug cartel you cross over the Mexican border into California and squat five miles from Disneyland, and you say “ISIS is good, I want Sharia Law, all other law is Satan” ... this isn’t a felony. You have free speech. And you can stay.
The only vetting is “have you committed a felony”... Really? You think that is going to work? Everybody else stays.
You are an illegal alien from Mexico with AIDS and TB and a child molester in Mexico and it isn’t a felony to have TB nor AIDS, and no way will anyone in the US government have a clue you are a child molester, pot head, and have “kissing bugs” in you backpack and bed bugs in your underpants, you can stay forever.
This is Rubio. A politician. Member of Congress. Republican. Candidate for the Presidency of the United States. Who should be trusted.

On foreign affairs, he's informed, but seems to be buying the company line that we're on the right side in the Mideast.
Rubio of late has been consistent on a policy which seems to enforce current law, along with completing “700 miles” of fence.

I agree with most of what’s written, except the above. There’s an implication here that we’d be ok with legalizing those that are here, if we were sure it wouldn’t somehow lead to more illegals coming.
While that is certainly true, a factor JUST AS BIG is that the ones we do legalize will likely vote Democrat in HUGE numbers, and will bring in relatives that will do the same, not to mention having kids. I think that I speak for most here in saying WE WANT THEM TO LEAVE. Maybe come back as temporary guest workers, with their families staying behind, but that’s about it. The idea that we could in some way legalize the ones that are here without DESTROYING the country is simply wrong.
