Washington State Dem Introduces Bill to Ban Possession of ‘Assault Weapons’
Breitbart ^

On January 11, Washington state representative Jim Moeller (D-49th) introduced legislation to ban the possession of “assault weapons” in the state.

Moeller’s definition of an “assault weapon” also includes any semiautomatic pistol “that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine.”

In addition to pistols that accept detachable magazines, HB 2354 defines a “assault weapon” as:

A semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a 27 detachable magazine and has one or more of the following: A pistol grip or thumbhole stock; Any feature capable of functioning as a protruding grip that 30 can be held by the nontrigger hand; A folding or telescoping stock; A shroud attached to the barrel, or that partially or completely encircles the barrel, allowing the bearer to hold the firearm with the nontrigger hand without being burned, but excluding a slide that encloses the barrel; A semiautomatic pistol, or a semiautomatic, centerfire, or rimfire rifle with a fixed magazine, that has the capacity to accept more than ten rounds of ammunition.

Much like the resident’s recent proposal - this does NOTHING to stop crimonals.

There is at least one republican candidate for president who believes that so-called assault weapons should be banned.....

Next is the Barney Fife Law. You can have a weapon but you can only have a single cartridge in your pocket.

These “assault weapons” have never been defined, but it apparently means “scary-looking rifle that looks a little bit like a military-issue machine gun or submachine gun”.

It is practically impossible for even a collector to obtain any kind of fully automatic sidearm, and most usually, the exhibition piece has to be physically disabled so it CANNOT fire, in such way that the mechanism cannot be restored.

Despite much assertion to the contrary, semi-automatic weapons, which require a separate pull of the trigger to fire each round cannot be made to go to full automatic (machine gun) mode, without extensive reconstruction of the triggering mechanism. The shriek that “Why does anybody need a high capacity magazine to hunt for sport?” is obviously from someone who has never had to face down a grizzly bear. Or a wolverine.

This hoplophobe’s bill will outlaw .22LR semi-autos with tubular magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. There’s a LOT of those kind of assault rifles out there.

Washington overall is a conservative state full of Second Amendment supporters. Unfortunately that part of the state west of the Cascades is chock full of pothead libtards who want to impose their beliefs on everyone.

He must know the true reason of the creation of the Second Amendment. And it must scare him to think of his being removed from power by such a means. I would bank on the Founding Fathers thinking so.

Interesting thing is Clark county used to be middle to conservative. Then low taxes and land prices made it attractive for Portland tech firms and then their yuppie scum to flee the Portland socialist quick-sand, ergo, liberal migration

Good grief!!! It’s time to put up the bill again to split our state. It’s come up several times in different forms but the most common would draw a line at the Cascade curtain through Washington and Oregon making a new state of the Eastern halves of WA and OR as well as Northern ID. This would create a very conservative state and the Libs in King county and the West side could do their damage pretty much unchallenged.

I wonder if they will regret it. Whenever there is rioting the first thing people do is to arm themselves.

They just don’t know what a real assault weapon consists of.If its scary looking( to them ) it classifies as an assault weapon.
