Sounds like Trumps urging has found its way to DC and Tehran too.

Ah, so Trump is behind the lifting of nuclear sanctions against Iran? Go figure.

I’m not complaining because we are getting the four - however, sounds about par 7 of theirs for 4 of ours.

Fox News is reporting that also and that the additional Iranians removed from the Interpol list were involved in the bombing of a Jewish center in Argentina in 1993. Further that at least some of the first 7 Iranians were granted Obama Executive Clemency. I wonder what else Obama has given away under cover of this “prisoner swap?”

This time it WAS because of a video.”13 Hours” is being received with such anger and it being directed at Urkel-Hitlery, something had to be done to grab the headlines and at least partially deflect the well deserved scorn.

We’re gonna release 7 from GITMO (most likely) and get 4 of our own. And, Freepers are reacting with “way to go Donald”. We are in a parallel universe.

It was not immediately clear whom the Americans released, but Iranian reports said seven Iranians were freed.

Why not just ask Obama is this occurred. Why is it not clear?

I’m especially glad for the release of Saaed Abedini, the American pastor jailed for his faith. What I NOW want to know is if they’re going to let him leave the country. He needs to get away from there, FAST!!!

Perhaps Franklin Graham and Samaritan’s Purse can send a plane to retrieve him...and the others, if they so choose.

"You won't hear Trump praising God."

Maybe because he does it in his mind and heart...or before bedtime....or...

What a crass, tasteless statement!

When I hear or see a candidate staging an open mini-prayer session before a camera or a reporter for political purposes, it reminds me of all the cameras rolling when Bubba Clinton walked down the church steps with his twenty-pound family Bible tucked under his arm.

” Iranians removed from the Interpol list “

Not so sure about this information. Argentina had the fugitives of the bombing put on the INTERPOL list. So, Argentina would have to take them off. I thought most were Hezbollah. (Lebanese) Though, there was talk about members of the Iranian gov’t being put on the list, including then National Security Council Secretary Hassan Rouhani.
There were several Iranians initially arrested and released and I think deported by Argentina, so maybe they were put on Interpol by the U.S. at some time later.

Somewhat agree if this was “political” and I am a Cruz supporter and Christian. However, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. My family has been praying for the pastor and he met with the family so there is probably some emotional investment. The comment by Cruz is not inappropriate if it was not a political calculation. Sad that we are all (led by the media and hyper-partisans) reading so much into every comment and nitpicking things to death. Leaves little room for genuine heartfelt thoughts by any candidate (I think they all have these). Who really knows? Have we arrived at a place where the comment “thank God” is political?

While I am glad for the releases, I worry about the “prisoner swap” model we seem to have fallen into with these rogue regimes. Anyone who wants anything from the U.S. can grab some prisoners because we always seem to “trade” for them. This is a dangerous position. I want a President that is feared so people will think twice about grabbing our citizens in the first place. With that said, our citizens should think twice about going to a country like Iran and putting themselves in these positions in the first place.

If I go into Canada and violate their laws I don’t expect our government to swap Canadian prisoners for me or offer some deal that costs billions to secure my release. From a rational standpoint specific to missionary work we should examine why it should be any different for Iran or North Korea. There are ministries that are highly effective that do not place one in such a position using media. I suppose they had their reasons, but their decisions to go there have now impacted us all.

The situation with the pastor was avoidable. We would laugh at animal activists that go to African preserves and get eaten by lions yet we celebrate a pastor who does the same. If they are martyrs they receive their just reward - if they become political pawns between governments they are impacting us all. Just my .02 and food for thought about a difficult situation.
