The suit seeks a court definition of the term to clarify whether Cruz - who was born in Canada to an American mother - can or can't serve if elected. "This 229-year question has never been pled, presented to or finally decided by or resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court," Houston attorney Newton B. Schwartz Sr. said in his 28-page complaint. I actually see this as a good thing. And I think Donald Trump was pretty smart to bring this up.
This needs a ruling because Cruz is a Republican and the last thing we need is any of our guys getting into an issue like this. Once its defined, that also protects Marco Rubio as well, who was born of immigrant non-americans citizen in Miami. So lets get this all clarified so we don’t have issues. I would also like a ruling that if you are a citizen of another country and go to school as a foreign national are you still natural born. Just sayin’
Honestly I think that Cruz will be Trumps running mate if this all gets cleared.
At least from here on out this is established and we aren’t passing laws for someone like John McCain and throwing rocks at Ted Cruz. Eligibility should be based on reality and not on who is popular in the senate at the time of the election.
Dang Cruz. Didn’t he know he shouldn’t have born in Canada. Once he was old enough he should have at least sued himself. /sarc

Many people wanted the definition changed.
The new definition of simply being born a citizen makes every anchor baby and Winston Churchill eligible(his mother was an American).

Correct - all the Soetoro/Obama suits got tossed for that reason alone. No one has any standing to stop traitors from ruining the country, and no one has standing to fight the Oligarchs. I think the whole natural born thing needs to be thrown out. It is meaningless, especially with the immigration floodgates opened so wide during the past 50 years. Just be a citizen at the time you file to run, and We the People will grill your candidacy. Personally, I’d take Dinesh D’Souza over Rubio any day. I don’t like Cruz, and now he is giving me even more reasons for that disdain.
