If they want to know who is "destroying the party's brand" they can look in the mirror.
They’re terrified that they may have to finally deliver on some of their rhetoric, and afraid of losing their safe, cushy desk jobs.
Things got like this because many in the party valued ensuring their own re-election by moving to the middle over doing what they were elected to do. And in doing so, they repeatedly ignored the complaints of those who elected them.
They ought to try understanding the anger and addressing the causes rather than blaming their constituents.
At least most of the candidates (other than JEB! and Kasich), have figured out that you have to acknowledge the legitimacy of the anger and try to address the underlying problems. But much of Congress and the party officialdom are still clueless. Their reactions are making it more likely that one of the candidates they dislike will win the election. What is depressing is that the party leadership is apparently too clueless/dumb to realize that.
