Wireless may not even make sense in an area prone to RF interference. If it can’t afford to go wrong, I’d want wired.

digging up an article that was already posted on FR with hundreds of comments days ago!

I missed it. And for some reason, I have Beck on (comes on after Breitbart) and he was talking about this - mentioned that every mike is different and it is on the speaker to find the sweet spot.

And did Donald try before cussing it out... dunno. Maybe this one was acting inconsistently. So many unknown details.

“Do we really want this hot-head with his finger on the button?”

Yes.
He UNDERSTANDS what that button does.
He understands the cost of a bad mic.
And he demands that those working for him do their job so that he can do his.

He had to trust that mic would work perfectly. It didn’t.
POTUS has to trust “the button” will work perfectly. He’ll demand those responsible for making it work perfectly ensure it does.

The more I learn about powerful people (POTUS, Trump, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, whoever), the more I realize their seemingly ridiculously high standards & demands are critical to achieving the enormous goals they pursue (and pursue to the ultimate benefit of millions of people).

If you aren’t aware of the circumstances behind this vote you should.

But like so many of you backing The Donald, superficiality always “Trumps” substance.

Do a bit of research, educate yourself on ALL the circumstances of the vote and if you still believe the way you do now, your beyond redemption.

Love it, it’s called accountability.

Managing through fear is the sign of a bad manager.

People accomplish FAR more when they are working because they want to.

Point was: they’re that wound up about something as “don’t worry about it” as used-once batteries (for “can’t be wired” situations). If they’re that uptight, they should be ensuring “too close to the mic” isn’t a problem.

If a performer notices a preventable sound system problem - especially if it’s bad enough the performer breaks form/show and complains about it on stage - the sound tech failed and won’t be trusted anymore.

Flip side: there are only 24 hours in a day; high-power managers with high-power subordinates can’t spend their time caressing the feelings of those under them.

I’m reading “Atlas Shrugged” now. I suggest you do too. It’s full of why “oh take pity on me” doesn’t work.

Trump’s role in 2016 is no different than Perot’s role in in 1992.

Save the democrat party and get a Clinton in the WH if he can.

Actually I do believe that Trump has a reasonably decent chance of winning the White House.

With his decades of Liberal leaning positions, my greatest worry is AFTER he gets in.

You know what else is a sham? Everyone on this website has known for YEARS that Mitch McConnell is a lying ball of slime.

Yet, Ted Cruz had to ‘trust him’ first in order to figure that out for himself. His own staff (!) told him that McConnell was lying. But ole Ted had to ‘learn that lesson’ for himself first hand.

Wake up and smell what you guys are shoveling.

Good managers also don’t double down on blaming someone else for their screw up, they accept the blame.

Obama does the exact same thing. It’s never his fault.

With Trump and Obama it’s always someone else’s fault.

I wouldn’t have accepted someone on a crew I was running that couldn’t accept responsibility, I’d run their butt off in a heartbeat.

“high-power managers with high-power subordinates can’t spend their time caressing the feelings of those under them.”

Its not about caressing, its about respect and building a high performance team.

Its also not about pity.

And if you screw up in a way that disrupts/embarrasses the principal in front of millions of current & potential customers, expect to be berated.

Spoken like a faithful member of the incompetent.
Embarrassing.

We're not talking excellence here.

Simply competence.
