Friends:
2 USMC CH-53 helicopters went down off the coast of Oahu, 12 souls missing. One of my son's best friends is a CH-53 pilot stationed in Hawaii, and cannot be reached.
We don't know if he was flying at the time.
Please pray for Brian and all those involved.
Thanks
prayers up!

UPDATE: 12 #US marines missing after choppers collide - @thedailybeast
done ....I hope this ends positively! and prayers to all our military with the leaders we have today!
May they all be found safely!
Oh I’m so sorry. It’s pretty early, still.
Already started when I first read it. A HS friend has Marine daughters. I don’t know where they are right now/ lately.
sounds to me like it was night time training operations which is prime time for collisions. Especially over water.
Prayers up!
Prayers up.
Although I used to live in Kaneohe, I’ve never been to the state of Hawaii.
Sounds like they were flying formation and someone drifted. Normally we flew form using 1 & 1/2 rotor diameter separation.
Back in the ‘70’s there was a formation collision. Investigation showed that one pilot had been trained at Pensacola, the other, for some reason, had gone through basic helo training with the Army.
During “Lead” changes with the Navy/USMC, as soon as the “Trail” aircraft says, “I have the Lead”, he is responsible for maintaining separation. With the Army, so I’m told, the prior Lead has responsibility for maintaining separation until he has moved back to Trail position.
If these were CH-53E birds, they have a 79 foot rotor diameter. The older CH-53D models have a 72 foot diameter..
Of course, a mechanical failure may have cause one helo to collide with the other.
Be the troubled waters have threatened either Christian or Hebrew, God's arms is wrapped around them.
Prayers and tears.
from original source prayers for calming the storm one more time:
The helicopters were on a nighttime training mission when they crashed off the coast of Haleiwa, located on the North Shore of Oahu.
U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Sara Mooers told NBC affiliate KHNL the Marine Corps Air Station in Kaneohe requested assistance following a collision at 11:38 p.m. Thursday night.
Surf on Oahuls North Shore is expected to be 30-40 feet high, beginning Friday, according to KHNL.
No such luck
Prayers lifted.
