I agree that they should be in jail. But failing that I say make it illegal for them to possess a gun and set them up for a future arrest and conviction that will put them in jail again.

Ted is in favor of simplifying the tax laws and laying off tens of thousands of its workers.

“Make it the case that any illegal caught drivng without license or insurance is held for deportation”

So all the illegals we have driving in this part of the country WITH license are OK? They are said to obtain state-issued driver’s licenses at about the same rate as citizens.

Seems reasonable. I’d use a deportation force to go after the criminal and gang banger illegals. All others I’d enforce existing laws...go after businesses that hire illegals and not govt aid for illegals. They won’t still around for long. So basically a combo of Cruz’s and Trump’s plans.

I just don’t believe that folks here illegally should be able to possess guns.

*************************************************

From the moment they cross our southern border into the U.S., they are actively participating in a crime the entire time they are here. No indeed, they should not be able to buy, own or carry a gun. They are not citizens, they are criminal invaders.

Well, criminals who commit crimes other than border violations will insist on staying to victimize a target rich environment. That is why they need to be scooped up even if their only other US crime is shoplifting.

They can come to California, where they are welcome and had allocated budget and more.

If you won’t kick them the hell out, you won’t build a wall either.

Ted is too soft on illegals.

In time of war, when national security has already been compromised and endangered, you can bet your sweet Texas ass it is, ok Ted? Cruz just went down a couple of notches in my book.

Ted simply said you don't knock on "every door".

Which means that you don't do random searches.

And you have a problem with this?

Random searches without any scintilla of probable cause are unconstitutional. But then, I guess the Constitution only matters when it squares with your private subjective politics. How liberal.

California’s policies only exist because they are funded in part by the federal government. They will never sustain themselves without federal support. When Trump cuts off aid to hospitals, schools and welfare agencies who pay illegals, they will be gone as fast as they came.

Like that idea.

One of the easiest locations to find illegals is each & every Western Union outlet in the USA.

They are there sending cash to their own relatives in other countries.

The 2nd easiest place is the border with Mexico.

3rd: The welfare rolls in every state-—particularly California.

4th—The DMV of every state which has agreed to issue driver’s licenses to these illegals.

5th the enrollment names of every school in the country.

6th The jails & prisons

7th hospital records—especially emergency & obstetric records

We all know how this could be accomplished-—but Obama certainly tried to hide the facts, doesn’t he???

Wise up. The qualifier is "in time of war", what part of that do you not understand?

What is "liberal" is Cruz's conjuring up that image of "jackboots at your door" just like the lamestream media like to do.

Try again Sparky.

Let's try it from the beginning:

"Texas Sen. Ted Cruz does not plan to authorize a special force to deport the undocumented immigrants currently in the country"

In other words, he's going to try to 'make the system work'.

More:"Cruz indicated that he would only deport those who are apprehended, such as those who commit crimes or are caught by prospective employers without having immigrated legally."

In other words, illegals can pretty much roam America just as they are right now unless they are unlucky enough to be arrested and determined to be illegally in our country, OR if employers who LEGALLY hire workers decide to turn them in, or if they continue with the "catch and release" program.

And so far as "having a problem" with anything, if (based on military and/or law enforcement intel data) it is highly suspected that certain residential or business locations have illegals in them, then by all means, bring the deportation teams and "knock knock m*ther-f*cker!!"

That's not what Cruz said.

Of course.

What you describe is not a random search.

What you describe is not knocking on "every door in America".

If you cut off their employment, and you cut them off from welfare, they will leave. Ordinary folks don't like starving.

These illegals are not "ordinary folks". They are illegals and prone to criminal activity because they ARE illegal.

As for terrorists, we already have the FBI.

See San Bernardino, Boston, Chattanooga, etc. How's that workin' out for us so far?

Sen. Cruz' plan seems logical to me.

Logical is fine, ONLY if it is effective.

1. First, shut down the border. Make it secure. Stop the current flow of illegals.

Agreed.

2. Deny employment and welfare to those here illegally. If folks can't work, if folks can't get welfare, folks will starve. Folks who starve generally will move on to places they won't starve.

Sounds good in theory however you are presuming that denying illegals "employment" means they are LEGALLY employed. If they are working off the books, any such 'denials' mean nothing. As for 'welfare', again that is based on government hand-outs, it will have no impact for private 'humanitarian' efforts (liberal churches, soup kitchens, food banks, etc.) and long before any illegals begin to starve, they'll just move on to some liberal sanctuary city OR hit a law abiding American over the head and rob them of everything they've got, perhaps their life too.

3. Deport the known criminals as they come into contact with law enforcement.

A long and drawn out process. How many illegals are estimated to be in this country, 10 million, or more? How long do you project it will take for those illegals to come into contact with law enforcement?

5. Don't let anyone back in who has broken our immigration laws.

Agreed.

The last point is important. Without it, we would encourage some folks to try to immigrate illegally. After all, there's no long term penalty to it. And if we "expedited" folks back in, that would actually become a magnet for further illegal immigration, as those who immigrated illegally and were deported would have a jump over those who didn't immigrate illegally and waited patiently for NON-EXPEDITED legal immigration.

Also agree. The only 'expediting' that should take place (IF an applicant for immigration is found to be free of criminal convictions and not a risk to our society) should be to the END of the line behind all the other LEGAL immigrants.

We're not too far apart on our views, however the logistics and practicalities of your points 2, 3 and 4 are a challenge to say the least.
