In Ferguson, the governor of the state encouraged civil disorder.
In Malheur it is clear that the feds are taking it very carefully and giving the Bundys plenty of rope.
The leftists are livid about it, but the FBI is playing it smart this time.
Thank you for the link. Signed, they already have my name anyway. :)
The Hammonds don't want them, so it sounds like that group are deliberately trespassing, perhaps breaking and entering, on private property.
The group who stay will run out of food and warmth very soon.
The one tough guy with a death wish will eventually fall asleep, and then wake up in manacles.
I seriously doubt they would go to the Hammonds without being invited. It’s likely the Hammonds are giving those who want it.....an out.
Inviting them onto their land probably does not help the Hammonds' legal situation any, however.
I can see an easy plea for the rest.
Yes, I imagine Ammon & his pals are mere babes-in-the-woods when it comes to the land...
The fact that his group is soliciting warm clothes and food donations shows that he had no intention of living off the land in the east Oregon winter, and that he did not bring sufficient equipment.
Hugh Glass he ain't - he's got the figure of a man who has gotten more used to Golden Corral than actual corrals.
That's the kind of conditions that separates world-class outdoorsmen from weekend warriors.
They stormed a gift shop.
Who do they think they are? Harry Reid?
Apparently that one is LaVoy Finicum, who seems to talk quite a bit.
So far he's said that they they are going to do research on land claims and titles, it will take a long time and that's what they're there to do.
Then he said he wants to go home soon to his scattered herd.
Now he's saying that he won't leave alive.
I guess sleep deprivation and snack deprivation are getting to an already unstable personality.
That why they make snowmobile suits. That isn't even below zero.
10 below fer a stretch might make me sit up and take notice, if the wood shed wasn't full.
I imagine these guys got pickups. You can get a fat facecord in a full-size bed.
There's probably a full cord or two, or more laying around the outbuildings - there's a heating season, even though they close for the winter.
They'll do jest fine, city.
BTW - they have buildings. They're not outdoors.
That would be a yawner, for me. I'm a master of "heat bubbles".
LOL!
But, but - it's a FEDERAL gift shop, 'n stuff!!!
**commence breathless Media hyperventilation**
Your observations about taking the white man's "gifts" [Federal aid] are correct, Dusty.
Perhaps there's some sort of historical difference between ranching conditions in Nevada & Oregon, and where you're at.
Are most of the ranchers down your way a lot like you - no government strings attached?
They make the ranches BIG down there. I drove across the King ranch more than once in my youth...
Also, remember that snowmobile suit wearers usually go home to their centrally heated home or lodge after a day of riding.
Maybe there's that much firewood around the place, maybe not.
If you have to gather your own firewood in single digit weather wearing jeans and a flak jacket on short rations, you're going to get pretty tired of that very quickly, suburb.
Especially if you're used to living in Phoenix.
Correct, but they're probably closed for the winter for a reason - namely, they're likely designed to be cool for the summers and aren't winter-friendly.
It's not clear they have working fireplaces.
No wonder we're freaking slaves in our own land.
"Martha!!! Them's turnt off the lec-tricity!!!"
A Honda EU2000 is 1000 bucks, and it doesn't weigh quite as much as a bag of potatoes - with a handle. :)
Don't see what they need lec-tricity for, anyway.
There's probably a full pig (your tax dollars hard at work!).
