Trump leads among men with 39% of support, compared to 21% of men who support Cruz and 13% of men who support Rubio. Trump also leads among women with 29% support, while Cruz and Rubio have about equal support from womenâ13% and 14%, respectively.
Perhaps surprisingly, Trump also has the highest support among white evangelical votersâ33%. Although Ben Carson did fairly well among white evangelicals (12%), the group heavily favored Trump. Cruz also did well with white evangelicals, with 2 in 10 supporting him.

This is surprising. Cruz is Bible-thumping in nearly every appearance. On Hannity last night Cruz quoted scripture — TWICE — to make his points. I guess the cornholes in Iowa aren’t as gullible as I thought. They sure fell for The Huckster’s Elmer Gantry act in 2008.
What % of the Christians is Trump getting ???

Voters are realizing that there more tangible and critical qualities to a candidate than religious prothletising and Scripture recitation.
What % of the Christians is Trump getting ???
I too am curious, but this only matters in the Vatican elections in IOWA. Personally if Trump wins a close 2nd place to Cruz in the caucus and splits the delegates it is a Plus for Trump.
He doesn’t have like Cruz thousand of out of state religious zealots working for him for free, and Cruz has been organizing in Iowa since he entered the race. Cruz has all the top Preachers working their congregation for him. Cruz has a Christian army working the polls.
IOWA hasn’t elected a nominee of the party in a long time
Reagan , Romney, McCain lost there.
A strong 2nd doesn’t seem from history to hurt you much in NH, SC, NV going forward
It seems to be the old GW Bush cheerleaders who push Cruz, and with good reason. His advisers are Bush and Clinton White House people...neocons.
[snip] The chairman of Cruz’s foreign policy team is
Chad Sweet. Chad Sweet is the Former Directorate of Operations for the CIA, the Former Chief of Staff for the Department of Homeland Security, and the Co-Founder and CEO of The Chertoff Group. Chad Sweet went into the world of big banking — from Investment Banker at Morgan Stanley to VP with Goldman Sachs. (The same post Mrs Heidi Cruz holds) He would then work for the Department of Homeland Security in the Bush Administration.
A key member of the Cruz foreign policy team would support dragnet surveillance of Americans given that one of the principals of the Chertoff Group is General Michael Hayden, director of the NSA until 2005.
Ted Cruz’s NeoCon inner circle includes, Cruz’s foreign policy advisor, James Woolsey, a player who would be drafted in the first round by any neocon fantasy team owner.
Woolsey was a national security specialist and former Director of the CIA under the Clinton administration.
Ted Cruz’s NeoCon inner circle includes his choice of Elliot Abrams to help craft his foreign policy. Like his colleagues on Cruz’s council, Abrams is a leader in the NeoCon world, and leader of what is perhaps the most powerful and pernicious group in the NeoCon network, the grand daddy of all the NeoCon GLOBALIST Organizations: the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
While Cruz pooh poohs the idea that he has ties to the Council on Foreign Relations, just because his wife Heidi Cruz was a member and co-authored the Blue Print for the creation of the North American Union. Who does he select as his foreign policy adviser but the HEAD of the Council on Foreign Relations!

TTTT!
Trump 33% to Cruz 21%
You mean Mexicans???
National Barack Channel polled 61% moderates to very liberal, that will include tons of crossover voters for Hillary. That with Trumps high unfavorables, no wonder he
loses head to head with her in poll after poll.
Yes that’s what I’m thinking. Ted Cruz is not necessarily going to get all the evangelicals in Iowa and I’m still waiting to see how opposing the ethanol mandate is going to work out for him. I still think its up in the air as to whether Cruz can pull out an Iowa victory.
Trans-Pacific Ted, pro-amnesty FReepers hit hardest.
IOW, you don't like Cruz because he's pro-Israel.
By that definition almost all Fundamentalists/Evangelicals are "neocons."
Wow!
Thanks for doing all of this research.
So essentially, Ted Cruz is helping to advance one-worldism. That’s a real biblical positon.
Cruz team members are from Bush admin, we will get same mess.
First, it looks to be a national, online poll. Second, though the Trump national lead over Cruz is consistent with other polls the internals are not.
Other polls have shown that Cruz has large leads in the evangelical and very conservative categories. If Cruz’ margins in these groups has suddenly switched over to Trump that begs the question — why are Trump and Cruz still polling where they were? One would expect to see Trumps numbers much higher and Cruz’ numbers down with Jeb.
That hasn’t happened. So, where did Cruz get his new found support from if not the evangelicals and very conservative voters who are, apparently, flocking to Trump and what group is abandoning Trump for Cruz to keep their overall numbers in close approximation to where they have been?
Bogus internals.
They sure fell for The Hucksterâs Elmer Gantry act in 2008.Cruz is Elmer Gantry 2016.
No that’s the % for a group called “evangelicals” whatever they may be...
The article doesn’t seem to mention Christians...
