The dabate continues: do we stick to our principles, or do we run to the middle?
Since Romney’s shocking defeat, this debate has taken on a new sense of urgency, with the thinking that if Obama was reelected, even Hillary can win this thing?!?
Nobody changed teams, obviously…. The moderates remained moderates, and are “now more then everâ€, energized to crush the right wing, that “cost us†an important election….
The conservatives, are equally incredulous, and fear a do-over with another moderate, will net us exactly the same results as last time….
THIS DABATE ACTUALLY SEEMS TO BE, BETWEEN REASON AND HISTORY!!!
On the one hand, the moderates’ argument seems correct, and more reasonable. The closer one is to the middle, the more of the electorate he should be able to capture. In a two party system, there is nothing to the right of the GOP candidate, no matter how moderate he is…

Over and over we nominate a Bob Dole, a Mcain, a Romney, and over and over WE LOSE?!?!
Not we, but the electorate in general which has moved to the left since Reagan. We're not going to get a Conservative nominated again without winning the electorate over to Conservative values.
And to those who want to say "voter fraud" or other trickery, even if you're right we'll still need to win over enough voters to overcome these obstacles.

Winning takes a complete game: Offense, Defense, special teams; Air game, ground game, candidate, message.
And it always helps if the opposition mis-calculates.
Reagan won with a 4-stool strategy.
1) Get the anti-communist, pro-Israel vote.
2) Get the economic conservative vote.
3) Get the social conservative vote.
4) Be a likeable personality with a sense of humor.
Too many Republicans only mention the first 3 legs.
Furthermore, we now have as much domestic communism as foreign communism. And the Islamic extremist threat plays different from the communist threat.
So there is a need to adapt.
REALLY... After a record-breaking, nation-wide, grassroots Republican takeover last midterm (MIDTERM!!!) driven almost entirely by the Tea party and the far right... /REALLY.
