When even the scandal-ridden Bill Cosby is giving more sensible advice about raising kids, it’s time for the black community to listen.
Did not take long for the “he was a good boy” comments. I am sorry they lost a son, but maybe if they had faced and dealt with his issues instead of made excuses he would be alive.
According to his mother, Daquan Westbrook had a girlfriend who is two months away from giving birth to his child. Poor baby!
He has a long rap sheet for crimes, mostly felonies. I feel sorry for his parents, but they sound as if they were totally not living in reality. Their son was a criminal.
Especially when they are a convicted felon and not allowed to be packing.

There’s a whole community that has been suckered into a twisted idea of what “being a good boy” is.
First, they got to hate Whitey. And thus we have the foundation for the chips that everyone carries on their shoulders.
Second, they got to be entitled, as in everyone who doesn’t give them whatever they want should get nothing but their wrath.
Third, they got to think evil entertainment memes are at the least harmless, at the most wholesome.
Fourth, anything they think about God has to be nominal or else biased. Can’t get within a million light years of “God so loved the WHOLE world.”
Fifth, they got to act utterly clueless on national media when this recipe once more cooks up a dish of disaster.
Dunno if I am getting the gist here well enough, but I think I’m getting warm at least. There are some black folks who DO grok the problem (e.g. our own Windflier) and they go from disagreeing strongly to being absolutely aghast at it.
There may never be a dumber fashion trend.
