Frank Luntz, the moderator, asked us the most demeaning questions like "Are you an American or a Muslim first?" To which I found insulting and shouted back, "Well, are you an American or Jewish first?"
He also had silenced me and other participants who have routinely brought up the fact the government has enacted in state violence against the Muslim community - whether that may be through entrapment cases and surveillance programs - and our concerns about institutional racism. He shut me down when I said that President Obama and Hillary Clinton has killed many Muslims under the administration when we were discussing Trump, and ironically for a GOP strategist, he shut me down when I talked about how Democrats have enacted some of the most deadliest and discriminatory policies against Muslims.

Another question Harvard says Luntz asked that was not included on air was whether they recognized Israel as a Jewish state - "as if that was relevant to the American Muslim experience," wrote Jilani of The Intercept. Harvard said Luntz clearly had an agenda. "He just wanted to create this narrative of how Muslim Americans are condemning terrorism." Poor things. "He's trying to put us in a positive light but in a way that makes us feel like second-class citizens," she said. Amelia Noor-Oshiro said that prior to being picked for the group, she was asked to fill out a survey that included one question about "approximately what percentage of the Muslim population would you think could be radicalized or are already radicalized?...It literally said write down a percentage!" Noor-Oshiro also says Luntz also baited her by asking her what "percent of white people" are racist. When she refrained from answering the question, he told her, "This is your chance!"

I'm a Christian first and an American second. I have no hesitation is saying it. And when I say it, I am not a threat to anyone at all. It's just not an issue. I think the same would go for any Jew.
But anyone who would say "I'm a Muslim first" has rejected our Constitution, rejected our way of life, and has implicitly threatened all of the non-Muslims within the USA.
Now, now. Let’s keep things in perspective.
I’m certain they would have edited out any harsh “critique” the Muslims made of George Bush, in just the same way.
When we come for the Muzzies, remember Dorkbama the MUSLIM.
If everything in the Old Testament was taken word for word with no exceptions some pretty crazy stuff would go down.
I think immigration should be halted for muslims.
But I wont go as far as your statement.
The Egyptian president recently visited a church and seems pretty down to earth. it is possible to be a moderate muslim, it’s just that they are few and don’t speak out.
A person cannot serve two masters. The question “are you American first or Muslim first” is fair.
Frank Luntz, just another pollster who form opinions first and asks questions later. Musta been a nice chunk of change
And there are enough Christians who are anti semites and recently in Israel, an orthodox leader said there was no room for Christmas in Israel.
Thank goodness they are in the minorities in both groups, but lets not get too holier than thou.
“... and our concerns about institutional racism.”
Hey buddy, islam is not a race - and it doesn’t meet the definition of a true religion either. Fascist death cult?
I would suggest you study the old testament a little more.
i’ll pass but thanks.
I can’t believe we’re even having this discussion on a national level. Islam is such a worthless garbage “religion” that they make the moonies and hari krishnas look respectable.
In discussions of God and country, country comes first on my priority list but that’s just me.
Although I would encourage Christians not to be anti-semites. the fact is that if that is all they are, it’s not the end of the world. Do you see Christians running around killing Jews because they are Jews? And are any Jews running around killing Christians because they are Christians? Such things are so rare that they simply do not matter.
Let’s stay focused on what is real and present each and every day: A devout Muslim wants Christians and Jews to be dead. And plenty of Muslims actually take action to achieve that goal.
Who or what is a "Harvard?"
That excerpt is useless.
Unless the poster is a muslim with English as his second or third language, there is absolutely no excuse for the total lack of quotation marks.
Yes, Luntz is a total jerk; I have believed that for the longest time. But muslims generally take the prize for duplicitous jerkhood.
what’s real and present is there are 3 million muslims in the country and while i’m not thrilled they are here, and they do pose a much higher statistical threat of violence against other religions, there would be a Whole lot more violence if all 3 million felt it was their duty to kill us.
ISIS doesn’t say wait for this and that situation to kill. they would be compelled to do it now. and not all of them are.
Jesus never commanded anyone to kill, rape, or attack anyone. Most he ever did was kick some people out of the temple.
Mohammed gave orders on law including, enslavement, rape, murder, and assault. Islam in its full form is incompatible with Constitutional freedom.
So you are commenting on something that you need more knowledge of but wish not to concerning your post? Just asking.
and I didn’t know stoning adulterers was part of our constitution.
It may be of interest to note the life of Mohammed. He came about in a multicultural society where multiple religions were allowed to exist. As his cult grew he made demands if the other religions. Eventually they tossed him out. He then came back with an army and eliminated the other religions.
Three million Muslims in an America with 300 million is manageable because they have no chance of an armed victory.
