Signs We Are Now Beating the Establishment
Breitbart ^ | Dec 24, 2015 | C. Edmund Wright

On the heels of the disastrous and obscene Omnibus Spending Orgy rubber stamped by the Obama Republicans in Congress last week – there is actually hope that we have turned the corner against the Republican Establishment wing of the Washington Cartel.

It reminds me of the old adage about going bankrupt – first it happens slowly and then suddenly. That seems to describe the fall of the GOP establishment. The reality they face today is totally different from the one in 2014 – let alone 2012, 2010 and 2008. And yet, without some of the efforts in those cycles, we might not be rounding these corners now.

There is good stuff in this article editorial that offers a little hope for conservatives going into the new year - the year of change. That, of course, is if we are all willing to get out and do a little ground work.

Those of you who take the time to glance at this article may enjoy one very slick touch employed by Mr. Wright that I hope catches on and starts being used by political pundits everywhere. He has taken the ingrained practice of following a politician's name with a parenthesized party designation and added a colorful link to Conservative Review complete with the person's Liberty Score.

NICE TOUCH! I really hope this becomes a widespread practice.

From his words to God’s ear.

It is interesting here that the author distinguishes between the donors and consultants. We at FR tend to lump them together, but if the former start ignoring the latter, that is good news indeed.

Another very happy turn of events for me has been the apparent wising-up of the “evangelical” leaders. As one who would self-identify as an evangelical, it has always pained me how foolish some of these guys have been in giving support to losers like Huckabee and Santorum. Whether you support Trump or Cruz this time around, you have to be glad that they have decided to be more intelligent in their endorsements.

Thank you, Baynative and Merry Christmas to you. Hit them long and straight, but not too often.

Did I hear somebody mention the RINO Omnibus spending orgy ! ! !

From a related thread . . .

Regardless that Speaker Ryan has heard his RINO colleagues read the Constitution out loud at the beginnings of the last three legislative sessions, he seems to have ”inadvertently overlooked” the following about his Omnibus spending bill. A previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that Congress is prohibited from laying taxes in the name of state power issues, essentially any issue that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers. This is evidenced by the excerpt below.

”Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” - Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

In fact, based on the Courts statement above, here is a rough approximation of how much taxpayers should be paying Congress annually to perform its Section 8-limited power duties.

Given that the plurality of clauses in Section 8 deal with defense, and given that the Department of Defense budget for 2015 was $500+ billion, I will generously round up the $500+ billion figure to $1 trillion (but probably much less) as the annual price tag of the federal government to the taxpayers.

In other words, the corrupt media, including Obama guard dog Fx News, should not be reporting multi-trillion dollar annual federal budgets without mentioning the Supreme Courts clarification of Congresss limited power to appropriate taxes in budget discussions.

Remember in November!

When patriots elect Trump, or whatever conservative they elect, they need to also elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will work within its Section 8-limited powers to support the new president.

Also consider that such a Congress would probably be more willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.

I love an optimist, but the court is still very much out on whether we’re deconstructing the Establishment or merely adding new members to it. By their works, not their words, we will know them.

You condensed a great lesson into a simple summary. People need more lessons like this.

In addition to our potential political/social evolution in 2016. I would really, really, really like to see this election turned into a referendum on the media. Trump, Cruz and Huckabee are pushing that issue enough that some people are beginning to be emboldened enough to speak up.

Like the CR links in the article, I'd like to see reporters identified by their political quotient so more people become aware of who is pushing them and why. Some people like Candy Crowley or Matt Lauer are almost comical in their efforts to bless the presence of Obama or Hillary, but a lot of folks don't quite see past the facade of many others.

I think you’re right. Whatever movement is afoot has to be growing the numbers on both sides. It will just come down to who works harder. From watching Jeb I get the feeling that money might be losing some of it’s influence when it goes up against discontent and raw emotion. Time will tell, eh?
