on this much, you and I are in total agreement. I don't think Trump is the best answer going forward - but he has been the single biggest factor in all this.
It would be very difficult for me to vote Trump if he wins the Primary....like voting for McCain which I said I would never do that again..... Now here we are with a leftist leaning candidate using all the sound bites of Conservatism, which he is not, running in a Primary that he himself didn't vote in for over 20 years.......go figure.
I do not think Trump will take revenge on his political enemies if elected. I do believe he will grow the economy and defend this nation against illegals and terrorists. I also believe he will implement reforms in government so that another President and the Courts cannot do the damage that has been done by not following the Constitution.
I don’t think you GET what’s going on so let me try and illuminate you on Trump’s success with voters.
We are currently facing down an existential threat to the American way of life in the form of Cultural Marxism, and it’s latest weapon against America - Political Correct Culture.
As a white male you are no longer able to critique anything, say anything, do anything. They talk about ‘white male privilege’ but for the masses of white males who can’t find gainful or meaningful employment and are treated as MONSTERS just for being alive that doesn’t look like privilege.
If you’re a Conservative... Even worse! The media and the brainwashed masses will shout you down and shame you for daring to raise your voice.
Then comes Trump - a loud mouthed SOB who just doesnt’ care. Either by design or accident Trump is SMASHING cultural marxism, SMASHING PC culture, and giving tens of millions of Americans a glimmer of hope that maybe one day this reign of terror will end.
Trump isn’t a true conservative like Ted Cruz, but he is a patriot fighting for America. He’s also the only one who can go toe to toe with the MSM, The Dems, and the GOPe and beat them at their own game.
Without Trump in the race Cruz would have been a sitting duck for their attacks, Trump is finally giving cover so Conservatives can have a voice. So I won’t bash Donald Trump, instead I will praise him and thank him, as I would thank ANYONE who does battle with the Marxists who want to destroy the West.
Yeah, but at least Cruz has balls enough to say that he won't criticize Trump when Trump takes a politically incorrect stand.
most of the noobs are here to tell us how great trump is....
And perhaps reread JimRobs support for trump. It's tepid at best. He loves that trump is sticking it to the media and has highlighted certain issues but he acknowledges Trumps substantive shortcomings. Conversely he has been vociferous in his support of Cruz.
Yeah, real "tepid", there, Axe.
Us '97ers know ALL about the Media. We hate them with a searing, white-hot hate. ANYTHING that will destroy them, we're for.
That's why a lot of us are for Trump. He's on 'em like a tanto on a seppuku practioner's gut.
Yep.
Is it wrong to have Cuban ancestry? Is that a bad thing?
You must be a member of the KKK.
Sheesh. The racism is strong with you.
I think Cruz would be the best president of the field running for the office.
That said, Trump has over turned the political world and I am loving it.
We have two candidates in Trump and Cruz that can cut through the PC madness and media smoke & mirrors.
Progressive heads are exploding, sweet.
This is a fun election cycle!
All the other politicians work for the uni-party which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the NWO. Nearly all politicians become compromised via sex acts and pay-offs. Then, they are “owned” by the un accountable “deep state”.
To advance his business interests, Trump has worked within the corrupt system. This of course means donations which are no different than bribes to keep him out of trouble and get his projects done.
Trump is a narcissist, blow-hard and all the contemptable selfish insults you can throw at him. However, he is the least likely of the bunch to have been bought by the global elites.
This is why the people are flocking to him.
“... a majority of his fellow senators to support him.”
You prefer a McCain or Romney, someone who gets along better with the Washington Cartel?
Yep.
There's an excellent Constitutional conservative in the race named Ted Cruz. This site hoped and prayed he would run; here's our opportunity.
I'm not blowing it. I'm sticking with him.
Donald Trump has an excuse for funding Hillary Clinton’s election to the U.S. Senate from New York: That’s how crony socialism is done. You pay off elected officials to become their crony, then you get special consideration for your real estate deals. Please FReepers, explain to me how this isn’t precisely what we are trying to STOP in Washington? Do you know what I don’t hear coming from Trump? “I’m going to put an end to such games.” ...
You haven’t been paying attention to Trump. He explains often and loudly that our politicians are for sale. He knows that because he has purchased them a multitude of times. He rails against all the super PACs because they are buying the politician - and reminds you again that he knows that for a fact because he has been doing the buying.
He is sick of the fact that this government is for sale and wants it to stop. You would notice if you listened to him that he reminds you often he is self funding. He hasn’t been bought by anyone.
As for the rest of your statements on his positions, they are wrong and undoubtedly you know that also.
Laz you say it’s not about Socialists versus capitalists anymore....it’s about elitists versus populists.
Well there’s some truth to that, but it begs two very difficult questions for you. A: SHOULD it be about this and B: how do you reconcile the liberal tenants of populism, which are far more prevalent in populism than is conservatism. And also, is an answer a man that has played the insider elite game for his own personal enrichment, and played the seamiest side of the bankruptcy gain in ways that really hurt smaller businesses? I don’t think you can smooth all this over...even based on your own assumptions.
I am at the point I don’t care. This isn’t 1980 and there is no Ronald Reagan, and for the record Reagan wasn’t was Conservative as most think.
The Socialist Revolution happened November, 1932 and nothing can really stop it. Both parties are Absolutely Corrupt and are both Big Government parties. So don’t kid yourself.
I frankly do not think Ted Cruz can win, With Trump we have a chance and it is my hope if he wins the office will mold him and he will turn out to be a good President. Can he really be any worse than what we have had??????
My main reason for supporting Trump is that he is successful outside of politics. Also because he doesnt pander or give a damn about the PC that’s killing this country. I have a few doubts about him but I dont doubt that he wants the US to win. However, after reading some of the butthurt comments from the Jebby’s, Rubbies, and H1B lovers I think that what I like most is how Trump pisses off the establishment.
To those who understand the varied approaches to American Conservatism, which I believe you both do, it is imperative that we do not fall into the trap of trying to promote an ongoing fight between Cruz and Trump supporters. The approaches of Trump & Cruz are complimentary, not exclusive.
Only a relatively small percentage of the public is really ideological in the sense of being able to define a philosophically Conservative position. Cruz is able to appeal very strongly and very motivationally to that small percentage. While they are essential to field a strong Conservative electioneering team, they are not sufficient in numbers to win an election at the Presidential level, without something more.
Trump, on the other hand, is able to rouse people who have strong patriotic instincts--even if most of them will not understand the strength of the purely philosophic argument. However, that does not mean that they are offended by that argument--only that it is not enough without a more general rallying of patriotic Americans, to control an election.
The Leftist media is going to try every trick in the book, to induce an ongoing battle to embitter the supporters of Cruz & Trump against each other. That effort may well be the Left's best shot at frustrating what may be our last hope of returning America to her heritage. It is of crucial importance, then, that we not get sucked into that effort.
On the 15th, Trump & Cruz demonstrated that they do not want to fall into such a trap. Those who understand my point should thank the Almighty for that demonstration, and we should all follow their example.
Trump is a creature of the MSM, who has allowed him to control the public agenda and starve all conservatives of air time oxygen. He makes them money while he disparages conservatism by his character. What's not for them to like?
When it comes to political deal making tossing favors to big business, this is not true. Trump loves crony capitalism.
