RUSH: Coming up in the audio sound bites, The Five on Fox yesterday afternoon, kind of jumped in my chili over this Ted Cruz business, wondering why Cruz is the only guy I'm seeking to protect; why don't I try to protect all the other conservatives from Trump? That question was asked yesterday. You'll hear it coming up in due course.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Okay. Quickly, a couple of sound bites here. I mentioned this so I gotta play it. This is Dana Perino yesterday afternoon on The Five on the Fox News Channel. Kimberly Guilfoyle and Dana Perino were talking about me (Who else?) and Guilfoyle says, "Dana, what do you think of what Rush said about Trump and Cruz?" What do you think of it? I mean, what's going on here, Dana?
PERINO: I do find it curious that Cruz is the only that one gets the protection of Rush Limbaugh if you say you're a conservative. I mean, Trump has no problem trashing all sorts of conservatives. The people who would self-describe as a conservative, and I think maybe one of the things is that they're starting to worry, like, "Oh, maybe Trump isn't as solid a conservative as we thought. We've been talking about him for six months and he's getting up there," and now they kind of like, "Oh, wait, well, maybe we like Cruz." I don't understand it. I think it's been unfair to a lot of people, including most of the people that are on that stage for several months.
RUSH: Holy smokes, do you realize the import of this? It's unfair that I am only protecting Cruz. What she means is, why haven't I protected Jeb, and why haven't I protected Rubio, and why haven't I protected Kasich, another great conservative, ahem. And note it's why haven't I protected. It's not fair that I haven't. And a lot of these are self-described, self-asserted conservatives and so forth. And her opinion is that now, now maybe, maybe I have been fooled, maybe I'm realizing all of a sudden it's getting way, way too late, maybe Trump's not the guy I thought he was, oh, no, I'm panicking now.
Well, Dana is smart. Just last week she praised me about something. I forget what it was. Wasn't this. Something else. Anyway, we have the answer to this. But for the answer we go to CNN. Gloria Borger actually answers Dana Perino last night on The Lead with Jacob Tapper says, "Took shots at Ted Cruz, Trump did, unprompted, obviously, town meeting, went after him for opposing ethanol, went after him other things. It's an interesting situation you're in with Donald Trump is heralding his temperament."
BORGER: Rush Limbaugh was the person who really pointed this out saying, "Why do you attack Cruz as being a maniac for not being able to get along with other Republican senators," right? That means he's anti-establishment, and that's what conservatives want, so why did you attack him that way? Because then Cruz can go back at you and say, "Wait a minute, huh-uh, I'm the real conservative here, do you want me to get along with those establishment Republicans?"
RUSH: Translate that for you. What Gloria Borger is opining there is that, as far as I'm concerned, it's either Trump or Cruz, that she thinks I've made up my mind, it's one of the two, and that that's why I'm offering protection for both. I'm hearing all these people talk about me. I'm here, I'm in the room, I'm in the audience. It's fascinating.

I noticed a few months ago, about the same time as Megan Kelly..
I used to really like Dana, but this cycle is completely outing the ‘e’stablishment...
it’s so obvious and the republican party is either never going to be the same or it is going to die..
Trump & Cruz are either going to take over or slay the beast.. and that’s it.. game over.. It’s already happened and there are really only 2 options and I think most people prefer death to the GOP.. They are mostly liberals anyway, hardly even tapping on the brakes...
Dana is the dumbest dim bulb on television next to Dana Bash. Two dumb Dana’s.

Tony was a FReeper! His handle was........"Tony Snow." He was completely transparent and honest. I posted something he disagreed with once, and he responded with "I hear you Sky, but here is why I think you are wrong....."

She’s busy right now trying to find a way to breathe, what with her nose firmly lodged in the Boosh Family’s collective bung hole. To call her a “Fox News Contributor” is a big freaking joke! Same for Rove, who also has his nasal passages impinged in the same manner as Perino.
I often wonder how Dana has made it to the jobs she has had, she stammers when she talks. Maybe she gets nervous but someone in her line of work should be able to control her mouth a little better.

Unfortunately she’s 50 fathoms down in the tank for the Bushes and the rest of the GOPe.

I remember an incident (read about it on FR) where she was trying to make a point and stammering badly, so Eric Bolling started talking. She interrupted him and said, “Can I make my point?” Without missing a beat, he said, “I don’t know. Can you?” She was shooting daggers at him after that. LOL.
Well that theres your problem in a nutshell Dana, it's that they are people, like you, that self describe as Conservative while not actually perceived as Conservative by Conservatives!
I can understand why she is so fond of the Bush family. If they are as nice as I have heard they are, they probably treated her like family.
The Bush Sr. family lives fairly close to me and Barbara Bush held the door open at the pharmacy for me one day. I gasped when I looked up and saw it was her. Very nice people.
Tony Snow was my favorite Fox commentator ever.
That said, I know Perino is establishment all the way to her bone marrow, but there’s something about her grace, style, and humble presentation that makes me like her. She’s not the stunner/symbol some of Fox’s ladies are, but she is classic feminine, and maybe that explains it, but I think that’s not it.
I think it’s just the graciousness in her willingness to listen before responding.
Tony Snow. He was the real deal.
