Media Really Bummed They’re Losing The Gun Control Fight
Bearing Arms ^ | December 13, 2015 | Bob Owens

Oh, dear.
The Associated Press has looked at what's happened since Sandy Hook, and they've come to realize that their dreams of gutting the Second Amendment have failed spectacularly.

But in the three years since, many states have moved in the opposite direction, embracing the National Rifle Association's axiom that more "good guys with guns" are needed to deter mass shootings.

In Kansas, gun owners can now carry concealed weapons without obtaining a license. In Texas, those with permits will soon be able to carry openly in holsters and bring concealed weapons into some college classrooms. And in Arkansas, gun enthusiasts may be able to carry weapons into polling places next year when they vote for president.

Dozens of new state laws have made it easier to obtain guns and carry them in more public places and made it harder for local governments to enact restrictions, according to a review of state legislation by The Associated Press. The number of guns manufactured and sold and the number of permits to carry concealed weapons have also increased, data show.

The Associated Press isn't completely distraught, however, as it points to tiny totalitarian Michael Bloomberg and his personally bankrolled gun control groups as bright points in their otherwise collapsing movement. Bloomberg has had some limited success when he pours millions of dollars into carefully chosen political races.

What Bloomberg's not doing, however, is winning on a national level, which is why he's been forced to fight stop-gap fights on the state level to limit the damage to his cause of citizen disarmament.

We're winning..... and they can't stand it.

Tipping point on Guns, we have reached. Growing Desperate the gun grabbers are.... - Yoda

Ahem..

Perhaps this explains the all out effort by the national socialist left's gun grabbers and their media minions going all in for Gun Confiscation or anything they can think of as of late

This isn’t 1930’s Germany. Mankind is wiser based on that experience, much to the chagrin of the gun-grabbers.

Picking up a new gun or some more ammo just feels like the right thing to do when the domestic enemies climb on the soap box and start spouting off about taking them away. It might not be a bad thing to let them ramble on until the vast majority of the population is well armed.

Exactly.

We have the benefit of knowing what has transpired before after a population has been disarmed.

One almost has to be amused when they try to lie and state that no one is calling for Confiscations.....

Left that station, that train has...

A friend of mine in the Los Angeles media told me that 98% of the local media guys have never even held a gun, and 98% have never served in the military. Big surprise, eh ?

My local paper, the Tulsa World, published that AP article yesterday in its news columns. They also chose that day to announce that their carriers would also deliver the NY Times as part of their service. I noted in an online comment on the article that particular coincidence seemed appropriate since the NYT also likes to use their news columns as repositories for opinion rather than news.

I just realized that gun ownership might be the only important political issue in America that has been decisively won by Conservatives in the last three decades.

Every other issue I can think of - budget increases, national debt, money printing, unfunded Social Security and Medicare, ObamaCare, immigration (legal and illegal), Black violence, Affirmative Action, gay everything, weakened military, the Global Warming scam, the Supreme Court - has moved relentlessly to the Left.

Our ‘gun rights’ victories have occurred in the several states, not with the feds.

He doesn't have to win on a national level if he can get most of the States to implement background checks on private sales. So far, he's not doing too bad.

We'd better not start patting ourselves on the back just yet - wait and see if his initiatives in NV and AZ pass - as I suspect they will. Our side should counter-push for a call-in background check only, no 4473s involved.

Suffice it to say, with our win, their's don't really matter now do they?

When we decide to flip back their wins, we will be able to do so.

If we only were able to win one of that list, we won the most important one by far.

I still remember when the Tulsa World supported Barry Goldwater. They had a full color photo of him on their front page back in 1964.
Now why would they team up with that rag the NYT!

And it’s kind of amusing how they can’t help themselves in pushing their national socialist agenda of civilian disarmament even though they know that it’ll drive up guns sales.

Do they really think that people are going to stop buying guns because his majesty scolds US for doing so?

You can easily wager that people who already have guns are buying more (Boating accidents and all that).. and more and more people are becoming 1st time gun owners..

So very, very aptly noted. The only other issue we have “won” on in a small way is unions, and though I oppose unions, I can see where the globalisation, cheap labor, immigration trends all line up to favor the Uniparty on this “win” also.
