All Roads Lead To Trump

Some days I think Barack Obama is trying to get Donald Trump elected.

My theory on Trump's rise focuses on the surge Trump's polling at the same time President Obama has visibly failed to keep Americans safe from ISIS.

Fourteen dead in San Bernardino, the Los Angeles schools closed after a credible bomb threat to multiple schools, and the President looking dazed and lost in rhetoric repeated so often he knows it by heart.

Trump now has two respected polls, Monmouth and ABC/WashPost that show him essentially cracking 40% support. This breakthrough has the political professionals leaping to all kinds of explanations, but it's clear that Trump's statements are sounding like a ringing alarm bell to most Americans. Trump seems to be prophetic, even in his most outrageous statements.

But I think it's really all about Barack Obama. His flailing half-baked ISIS policy, his shrug at Paris and San Bernardino terrorism, his insistence we have a gun problem not a terror problem, similar insistence that we we have a robust and virtually foolproof vetting system for the Muslim refugees and immigrants he wants us to take in.

Americans instinctively suspect it's all crap. Then proof comes along, and we see those Americans rushing to Trump as fast as their feet will carry them.

For instance, the often repeated claim from everybody in the White House and the State Department that immigrants are thoroughly vetted. Turns out it's a lie. ABC's Brian Ross reports that the Department of Homeland Security has a purposeful, willful policy to NOT check an immigrant's social media history.

More than that. America is fed-up with 25 years of Crony Capitalism. From bad trade deals to open borders cheap labor to outsourcing/offshoring to too-big-to-fail bailouts. We’ve just HAD it.

As one of his supporters succinctly put it, Trump is our Middle Finger.

” ABC’s Brian Ross reports that the Department of Homeland Security has a purposeful, willful policy to NOT check an immigrant’s social media history.”

Why don’t I feel secure ?

Maybe the same reason Trump wants to stop Muzzies from coming to America ?

40 is now Trump’s ceiling, he’ll never get beyond that or he would have by now. None of the others even have a ceiling so any one of them could zip right past Trump at any time. Bush will zip all the way from 5 to 50 any second now.

I’m not sure of all roads lead to Trump, but all stories seem to be about him.

TRUMP is the one who broke the china in the closet on all of these security issues. He took the heat with flare and now the world is buckling down and taking a look at the china, and the closet it’s been buried in.

As a result it’s also breaking in the Lefty media, in Congress, and in the State Department.

What Trump has done is LEAD the country, while Obama fiddles and Hillary has gone totally dark.

IF there is another terror attack somewhere in the heartland or a big city (like the suburb San Bernardino or LA - where Americans can relate it to themselves) then I think Donald Trump not only wins the GOP nomination, but also easily defeats Hillary.

Not that long ago people were saying that he peaked at 23%.
Then, 30%.

I totally agree with that sentiment. It's been festering among many Americans for many years now. What we saw in 1992 with Ross Perot was a harbinger of what we see today. Even though Perot turned out to be a laughingstock, he still got 20 per cent of the vote in the general election. That's because so many people were fed up with the same old politicians.

Trump presents the first credible opportunity to put a non politician in the Oval Office since 1992. Trump has proved to have staying power and I think the people are going to elect him.

And they're both billionaires in real life.

And they're both native sons of "Gotham".
