The UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan has been accused of a “complete and utter failure†to protect civilians in one of the most dangerous and volatile parts of the war-ravaged country.
..“There has not been any protection to speak of until now while the violence has been ongoing and there have been thousands of people coming into the [Protection of Civilians] sites in Bentiu from southern Unity – those who manage to flee – and they have been telling their stories.â€
He added: “It’s not like this is a secret. They talk about the most horrendous incidents of sexual violence and I’m sure we’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg.â€
According to the international medical charity, people in southern Unity are so afraid that they are hiding and sleeping in swamps and rivers, and eating waterlilies to stay alive. At night, children are drowning when they slip from the arms of their exhausted parents.
While atrocities including forced cannibalism, sexual violence and the attacks on civilians in their hospital beds have been reported across the country since the fighting erupted in December 2013, Unity state has endured some of the worst and most protracted violence.
In May this year, pro-government forces killed as many as 129 children in the state over a three-week period. Survivors said boys were castrated and left to bleed to death, girls as young as eight were gang-raped, and others were thrown alive into burning buildings.

South Sudan suffered horribly under islamic rule and occupation.
They win their hard fought independence (with significant oil reserves) and they devolve into barbarism...

Give the climate change mandates a few years to kick in and that problem will solve itself ...

When Trump or Cruz becomes President, one of their first actions should be to disband the UN and have its socialists tried and executed for being enemies of its hosting nation.
They’re so busy solving pie-in-the-sky “climate change,” they don’t have time for trivialities like mass murder and rape in South Sudan.

“Complete and Utter Failure.” The motto of the UN. They’re too busy whooping it up in Paris trying to hoodwink the US into their climate change agenda to waste time saving lives anywhere. Besides, the hookers in France are excellent! As are the wine, caviar, and foie gras.
