I'm going to wait to see what other polls say. I find it very difficult to think that there’s been this big a swing. We'll see.

Seltzer's poll for the Des Moines Register is the most respected and accurate poll in Iowa. It is usually the one that is directly on mark. IIRC she is the one that got the Ernst/Bradley race right (Ernst by 7) while the others had a horse race. Ernst won by 8.5.

(Just note that I am merely giving context here, both Trump and Cruz are great candidates for us here on FR).

Cruz was for ethanol until fairly recently, wasn’t he?

Both Obama’s and Trump’s now-famous egomaniacal arrogance really disgust me. I can’t stand that in leaders. It makes them think they are uncontrollable and above the law. It is antithetical to our Power Resides in the People way of life. I don’t get this concern over Senator Cruz.

I think the term “electable” was used in 08 and 12 more to get the most pc person on the ticket. Remember when Romney was the nominee, the gope had a fit because Todd Aiken said something they didn’t think pc enough.

This time, “electable” really means something. As you can tell by all the rallies, there is huge support for Trump. I watched a rally yesterday on you tube, and there were many comments from people saying they were democrats for Trump.

We need this in order to win.

Time will tell - the dynamics are so different than any other in recent history that it will take some actual results to be able to begin to do any sort of good guesstimate other than the fact that Trump has strong aggregate numbers across a wide base and Cruz is still methodically building his campaign with aspirations to have it all start to gel sometime in the first quarter of 2016.

Those who care enough to want Cruz to be surging can always chip in a bit to solidify support....helping FR out is another worthy cause.

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to FR

Donate to Cruz

Donate to FR

U R 100 percent correct. Hope Iowans will understand what you have clearly stated.

And it does not matter, except that Iowa happens to be the first.
In 2016 due to BVP, if they choose any of the also-rans, they r gonna have it in a very bad way.
Trump is leading in several states.
The polls at this stage may lack credibility and may only serve a s some distant pointers.

Anyone who believe any poll conducted by the Des Moines Register——I know where there is a lake in the desert for sale.

It’s not the first sign of ant-Christian sentiment I’ve seen from Trump fans. Some of them are trying to get a meme started that Cruz is in some bizarre religious sect.

“Bible-beating” seems to really bug safetysign. Wonder what his reaction was to Trump getting onstage and waving a Bible around? Did that bug him, too?

Or did he sense it was just pandering?

Cruz is throwing everything into IOWA. He will lose the other 49 states.

only about the 6th or 7th thread posted on that Iowa poll..

Like we don't see about 50 pro Trump threads when he has a positive poll.

So very true. It has definitely picked up though. It is now clear a chunk of the Trump base is former paulbots.

Thanks for that post. I agree. I personally thought Cruz was against all of the subsides including ethanol and thus, he really holds no favorites but maybe I ma wrong.

Posts like these safetysign’s make it hard to even consider supporting Trump. You trash religious people and right-wingers as “nut cases” and “miserable pr*cks.” If I wanted to read that stuff I could go to DU or MSDNC.

BVP sounds like an incredibly intelligent, politically astute, polite and well-spoken guy in the interviews I’ve seen of him. He’s not alone either, with Iowans Steve King and Steve Deace endorsing Cruz.

Then you push ethanol mandates as a reason to vote for a candidate. You live in a truly sad sack state if you’re going to go broke without government welfare handouts. Sorry, but it’s time to kick you out of the nest and see if you can survive on your own or not. Stop watering down my good traditional fuel with your corny crap.

Even the one where they were the only outfit to predict Joni Ernst’s margin of victory?

I think you’re right.

I’ve noticed that some Cruz threads have the keywords “dominionism” or “dominiontheology.” Attacking Christianity with those terms is a tactic of the left; Rachel Maddow was very fond of doing so.
