Connecticut Gov. Malloy says he will prohibit terror suspects from buying guns in state: ‘This is common sense’Â
If the “watch lists” are accurate and not used to punish political or social opponents then I have zero problem with it.
But the government abuses.
Juat ban um. Who needs fedgov approval?
I hope Connecticut has enough money in its treasury to finance its defense from all the lawsuits that will be filed.
But the government abuses.
Exactly... and you’ll find more conservatives on the list every single day! I’m not paranoid, just being realistic based on how much this government berates and hates us!
Until we ARREST terrorist cells, people will still die because of terrorist attacks.
This lack of willpower to address the root problem is killing off native born citizens in the West.
This is a violation of the Second Amendment, whether we like it or not. If a state sets a precedent like this that goes unchallenged, it’s just a matter of time before “terror suspect” becomes defined as “anyone we don’t like.”
Good idea, bad execution.
List all the normal people on that list!
Imagine the lawsuits that are going to hit Connecticut.
My 72 year old mother was on the list. Had to get Tim Hutchinson, R-US Senator to get her off the list. Took months. Common name prohibited her from Italy trip. Cost us a few grand. But you feel safe, so that’s okay, right?
Okay, Governor Malloy. Why are you cherry picking what rights these “terrorists” retain? If these individuals are stripped of their 2nd amendment rights, shouldn’t we strip them of all their rights and kick them out of the country? No. You’ll leave them alone on all other aspects of living in your state, such as getting drivers licenses, voting, and partaking in free healthcare off the backs of the productive citizenry.
Honestly I think it’s just another way to ban Americans from buying guns. There are so many people on the no fly list that don’t belong there. Kids even that can’t fly. No recourse, nothing.
Connecticut Valley Arms, the US #1 selling muzzle loading gun company, was forced to move from Connecticut to Georgia a few years back due to their stupid laws.
Sure, just have a check-box asking if you are a terrorist. If you check the box, no gun for you.
The door opens for gun control in a way they know no one will oppose. The president will expand the definition of terrorist to include white Christian males. Watch.
What lists is what I want to know. What gets you put on these lists? Traveling to the ME? Making fun of Obama, or his wife’s big bulge? What does it take?
Point is, this is unconstitutional. As long as the person is a citizen. Shall not be infringed means exactly what it means.
You know, if Malloy had any sense he’d let the citizens of CT know just how many of their neighbors are on the watch lists.
The no fly list does not give due process under the law. There are people with names on the list that are innocent of any crimes. This is not going to pass the constitutional test.
However, do our rights apply to non-citizens? If not then banningsales to terrorists is a good thing, is it not?
