My Turn: Cruz has best blueprint to move nation forward
The Concord Monitor ^ | December 11, 2015 | Archie M. Richards, Jr., for the Monitor

‘To restore America,” says Sen. Ted Cruz, “we must rein in the leviathan. We must revive our love story with liberty and restore America as a shining City on a Hill.”

How vital it is to cut back the power and intrusiveness of the federal government! When government is big, the rich gain wealth faster than the poor, because the rich induce government to help them. Liberals say they intend to help the poor, but their policies actually widen the gap between rich and poor.

Cruz is the best candidate to begin a reversal.

“Never underestimate Ted Cruz,” said professor Alan Dershowitz of Harvard Law School. “He is off-the-chart brilliant.” Plus, the man is a dynamic speaker.

To tackle the massive Social Security program, he will need this skill to persuade younger workers to convert to personal savings. Cruz has sponsored legislation that would repeal Obamacare. He wants health care subjected to free markets. Government’s deep involvement in American health care has reduced its quality and convenience and greatly increased its costs. A previous government shutdown of Obamacare, he notes, led to a blowout election victory for conservatives in 2014....

I’m a Cruz guy.. he’s got his shxt together, is smart as hell and is not afraid of a fight.

Lot of Trump supporters here and I like that he says what’s on peoples minds in a non-politically correct way to get the message out there but as a President I’m just not seeing it.

I am not enamored with Trump, but I think we will see the Bradley effect big time in both the primaries and the general election. There is a large segment of the population who agree with Trump on immigration, national security and how these issues interact but are reluctant to express their views lest they be called bigots or racists. Furthermore, Trump is being viewed as David slaying the Goliath GOPe.

I don’t think that Trump would do a better job than Cruz. On that note I don’t think it’s productive to attack our own side. We have enough enemies in the world without making them out of our own peers.

“He knows hitlery, supported her donated to her. Hitlery will hit these points repeatedly.”

Trump also knew Reagan and supported him.

non-Trumpsters? There want be too many of them left after all the candidates have come out foursquare for allowing terrorists to infiltrate into the United States. You may be one of only a few left who agrees with that. You do know that Cruz has come out against Trump on that. Cruz just couldn’t take the heat for standing up for the United States.

His support of hitlery is recent. He donated to her. Thats recent. He supported lefty ideas. Thats recent. Reagan was in the 80s. His support of hitlery was throughout the 2000s.

Hitlery will make an issue of this even showing the date of the last check he wrote to her or any dem.

Trump can only overcome that by articulating Conservative ideas. His make America great again slogan will be meaningless against hitlery’s barrage of ads showing Trump recently supported her.

Cruz is a fighter and a clear Conservative. He would destroy hitlery in debates.
Cruz supported a pause on visas from countries which are state sponsors of terrorists, have terrorists groups involved in waging war. That is a solid natl security position.

Trump will have to do more to convince skeptics to vote for him by articulating Conservatism. If he doesn’t he’ll keep his core supporters.

“Hitlery will make an issue of this even showing the date of the last check he wrote to her or any dem.”

That is something you have ginned up in your own mind. Trump has contributed to both parties; a job requisite. Actually, Hilary is not the unstoppable monster everyone thinks. Look how easily Obama stopped her.

“Cruz supported a pause on visas from countries which are state sponsors of terrorists, have terrorists groups involved in waging war.”

Cruz has withered under the heat Trump has taken for his call to temporarily ban Muslims. The wife of the California terrorist came from Pakistan, which is not a state sponsor of terrorism.

Hitlery will make an issue out of Trump’s donations and liberal positions. Don’t live in Trumpland, look outside that box and you won’t be shocked if hitlery’s attacks stick because he dismissed them.

I read what Rand Paul bill on visas was. Its solid. Your attack on Cruz is empty as Cruz has gone up in polls

“Hitlery will make an issue out of Trump’s donations and liberal positions.”

That is nonsense, just something you have contrived.

Speaking of liberal positions.

Cruz voted for TPA the first time, voted for cloture the second time before he voted against it. As Cruz has correctly stated, voting for cloture is a vote in support of a bill. Voting for TPA is voting for the Obama agenda.

Cruz voted for the Corker bill, the bill that green-lighted the Iranian agreement. Voting for the Corker bill (the White House wrote it) was a vote for the Obama agenda.

Cruz called for a five-fold increase in H1-B visas and an increase in immigration. That is part of the Obama agenda.

Cruz aligns himself with liberals in denouncing Trump’s moratorium on Muslim immigration, a large part of the Obama agenda.

You live in trumpland. Try thinking outside of it.. Trump’s recent donations to leftists will be made an issue by hitlery.

Cruz is a consistent Conservative. Trump admires single payer still & would keep the good illegal aliens.

Trump has yet to be proven trustworthy of my Conservative vote

“Trump’s recent donations to leftists will be made an issue by hitlery.”

Yes, because she really wants to bring up donations to the Bill and Hillary Foundation (Criminal Organization).

If that is all you have, it is not much. Most people already knows all about that; he has mentioned it during each debate and elsewhere. It is like giving at the office; you just do it to go along.
